Subject: A small modification for the Rating Graph Message: Would it not be better if the X axis of the rating graph shows the number of played games, instead of date? I propose this modification because I think that the rating increase is, in my opinion, more correlated with the number of games played than with the time. And also players have very different games loads... The rating graph on the profile could then be limited to the last 50 games, which would harmonises it with the last 50 games statistics. |

| fliszt 2/04/2004 10:48:42 [ report this post ] | Only . . . Message: On second thought, although, perhaps using last 100 games would be better. The graphs are very helpful in detecting a player who has dumped a bunch of games, either by premature resignation or by timeout, and thereby drastically lowering his or her rating. I'd hate to see one of my teammates duped by one of these manipulators, whether intentional or otherwise. |

| zoobrenok 2/04/2004 22:21:45 [ report this post ] | Message: there are games that can take 8-10 months to complete. having last 100 games will not reflect player strenght over time. it is good the way it is. |
| skeeterss0 2/04/2004 22:53:06 [ report this post ] | I'm glad someone else likes itMessage: I like the graph as it is as well. You can see how a persons rating has traversed over that time. With a graph just Jan to Dec, in Jan and Feb you would have little data to look at. |
| mary875 2/04/2004 23:32:27 [ report this post ] | But for people having very low playing loads?Message: There will be a lot of flat area... giving no information at all! While if you have the last 50 (or 100) games on the X axis, there will no flat area. And more importantly you can compare between player - as everybody will have the same X axis. So you can compare apple to apple. Just my 10 cents, thought... I agree totally that the graph must slide over 'time' or game, and not be limited to fixed yearly portions! |
| lhunter 2/04/2004 23:48:54 [ report this post ] | All good pointsMessage: Why not have both graphs? |
| nestorix 2/05/2004 01:20:42 [ report this post ] | Flat erea....Message: ...indicates slower player or postponing, so leave it this way or ad another graph to the profile. |
