Subject: Cancelling postponement
Message: Let's say I postponed my games for five days. So a game with a five day timer that had 3 days, 15 hours at the time I set the postponement now says 8 days, 15 hours.
Four days later, the timer is now down to 4 days, 15 hours. What happens if the postponement gets cancelled? Does it go down to the 3 days, 15 hours I had left when I postponed the game? Does it stay at 4 days, 15 hours but I don't get any additional time on my next move? Does it go to something less than the 3 days, 15 hours I had when I set the timer?
I'm playing in tournament games with 2 day timers. I made a move yesterday, my opponent made a move, and when it became my turn again it said I had something like 3 days, 22 hours. It's now a day later, it says 2 days, 22 hours. What happens now if my opponent cancels my postponement?
My computer at home died, so I can only play from work. So I'm trying to figure out what might happen to my games overnight when I can't get to a computer.
Thanks.

Message: Cancelling the postponement will set the time to the maximum allowed time. If the time that is left is less than that, you can't even "cancel" the postponement. It just stays at that value. So if the maximum time is 5 days and the remaining time for the next move is 4 days, 15 hours, probably there isn't even the option to cancel the postponement.
But I'm not really reliable, I haven't postponed in over a year.
