 Subject: GK Tournament Oddities
Message:
Has anyone ever advanced in a tournament round after winning less than half the points. i.e. 4 players = 6 points max and you win 2.5. You can advance if the winning player(s) ratings bump them up to the next section and you have the highest remaining total points. I guess all of the players in a single group could advance like this. Or has anyone seen any other oddities in these tournaments.

What would be really odd would be if everybody advanced, although I imagine GK might investigate such a situation.

I've seen 3 people advance with 3.5 points, that's the lowest i've ever seen. i think there are a few occasions where people delibrately 'agree' to advance together. This is against GK rules, but how are GK supposed to prove that they did this? It's a pretty mean problem. I've grown frustrated with the amount of time GK tournys take which is why i don't enter them anymore.
