 Subject: "Last time seen online"question...

Sometimes I notice after playing a blitz game with an opponent on this site,that their "last time seen online"(in their profile) does not correspond to the last time they actually were online,with me for example,playing blitz.Yet,with some other players,their profile does show a correct online time correlation after playing a blitz game with me.Now,i'm talking about players that do not hide there online status of course.I just played someone a few minutes ago that was online with me for 2 games.About 10 minutes later I checked their profile and it stated that the last time they were online was 7 hours ago!Strange!Does inaccuracies exist with only the blitz room?But if this was the case,then why do other players online time in their profile show it correctly,up to the minute?

This is actually something that was alluded to in another thread. Blitz is run on a different server than the Gameknot server, so it's possible to appear offline on Gameknot if you have the blitz link bookmarked (or if you have the window open for seven hours, playing or not).
I've noticed some oddities with the timer in terms of just minutes, where I will be present at the time that an opponent makes a comment and I find that his profile says he was seen "7 minutes ago". I'm not entirely sure why that happens, but I'm sure it varies from computer to computer... since I imagine it's handled entirely by cookies.

only gets 'triggered' when you access a page on the main site, it seems. It could well be that blitz.pl does not have the 'notify I'm on-line' code in the page, just like the forums do not have such a thing... but that's just guessing. The reason why certain people are being shown as on-line when you have just played them, can be that they did access a normal GK page after/during the game.

The only time I've seen something like that was a while back when GameKnot had those 'DoS attacks'. I was last seen online 15 minutes ago... it said so in my profile ;-)
