I was just wondering how often the gameknot game database is updated- it seems to have been stuck on 489,130 and 52,545 for ages

www.chesslive.de/ 4.2 million games vs 0.5 mil. They are part of the Chessbase site. Updated weekly there. All games are above 2000 ELO if I remember right.

sometimes, a position can be found in the 1900+ database, but not in the 1500+ version. While 1900+ players, of course, are rated higher than 1500 too.

That games with a 1900+ player would go into a seperate db to the 1500+
So there would be one db where at least one player is rated 1500-1900
and another db where one player is 1900+
