2. how can I freeze or remove the annoying new auto-playing board next to it?

Message: 1) Well, the intention is that you try to solve it yourself. But if you really want to, you can click 'all moves graph' that is 'hidden' under options, and you'll have the solution without any effort.
2) not possible (yet), I think.

Message: I skip the home page and go directly to my games since the new feature was added. This may not help you as it skips the home page entirely. You can always go to the puzzle section if you desire.

Message: ok, I found "options" by clicking on the board of the puzzle.
2. a pause-button has been added to the checkmates on the right.

Message: Or better: Recent blunders.
This feature is starting boring me...
I want to have the option to show/hide it in my preferences page (or profile)
If possible, having the same options for daily puzzle and chess news(papers) would be great!
I think that those features are a waste of site's bandwidth...

Message: You can bypass the recent checkmates, the puzzle, and the chess news by simply bookmarking
your My Games page with your browser and going there directly. Bandwidth conserved.
