History is interesting, and statistics can be seen history written down. Some people are interested in e.g. FIDE Elo rating list: chess.liverating.org
Btw, is there nowadays available some kind of rating archives and searching functions with the rating system currently in use, and are they available for non premium members? I know that before there has been different(?) system and higher ratings than Cyrano's 2555, but I'm not searching those oldies - even though I'm pleased to know about them too. When did this current system establish?

magna68, this is part 2 of a thread that has been going on for some time. It's part 2 because there have been 50 previous posts by several contributors to the first part, so obviously, it's of some interest to some folks. If it isn't of interest to you, so be it, but jumping into the middle of a dialogue with "What a totally useless thread,"? Come on. Isn't that a little harsh?

Speaking of peak high rating(s), perhaps someone, keeping track more closely, might answer
a question? I looked at several top rateds. It appeared one has taken results much "as they
came". The other, may show a bit of "flex".
* * * * * * * * *
Actually in this case,"flex" involved claiming groups being blocks of Wins, & others blocks
of Draws ... rather than Losses, as is more commonly seen. So just wondering how many
have used a WINS before LOSSES claiming method & potentially reached a higher Personal
Best that way. VS how many turn in games as they come, without apparent consideration of
rating effects?

I'm not critical of its use in determining "Top Dog", just curious.

[ "Flex" is the term I coined to denote the situation that usually involves a player waiting
claim blocks of wins aor losses together, which can affect rating somewhat. For eg. one might
obtain their highest ever rating by first cashing in all their Wins, while delaying all
resignations till after that. It of course then plummets, but a new High may have been reached
momentarily. On the otherhand, doing reverse order...first rid of all Losses, serves to lower
the rating used to calculate vs the block of wins claimed right after. In traditional Elo system,
generally making a handful(usually small one, or less) of points higher Rating at the end; of
all those same games being calculated, than would have done if they had been claimed in
reverse order, or probably even "as they came". . . .
I am aware tho; this second method does not actually apply to GK, because of using an ELO
variant here which says that the higher of a players Start vs Finish ratings is used to calculate
rating change. So, interestingly to me, this same rule for calculation may cause Both Inflation
or Deflation of the overall pool, depending on specifics ... :) ]

Btw, one would claim that Papani shouldn't have visited rank number one spot at all. It happened "only" because High "delayed" (vacation, postponed all his games) his lost game (mate-in-1 gameknot.com ) against Rodog...

Just a personal view:Juco very kindly write me a message to say me I was 3th in gameknot recently,as i write my best place or elo in my personnel profile so i corrected because i have not notice this so i thank him a lot.I know it is not very important to be 3 th ,4 th or even 1st nor it is important to get 2500 or more but to be motivated I try to set me personnal goal :try to win a tournament ,to get XXX ele or to get a best classement.About my ego I think that I should have played football or golf to be really satisfied in that field...

That rodog is playing a mere 3 games total...easier to win when you play less games online. Cyrano is playing over 100. Cyrano has taken on the much harder challenge and has taken much more risk. Yet, he maintains a high rank. I think it is harder for someone to maintain a high rank (almost 2500) and play so many games. On the flip side, it is much easier to play less than 5 games and keep the rank high. You have time for more concentration for each game.
Just my thoughts. In my mind, Cyrano is a true gentleman and the most amazing chess player here. He has maintained rank for years whilst playing over 100 games. Rodog is keeping on top by the skin of his teeth whilst maintaining only 3 games...not nearly as hard to do.

Not all pages update new ratings simultaneously. Chesspower2006 probably won a game to earn 1 point shortly before you checked the ratings. 2460 is his rating.

chessnovice, you need to look 'Highest chess rating' at 'past 90 days', 'past year', and 'all rated games' sections. They have 2459 while first 'Chess rating' box reads 2460. This has already been over a week. So it's not a question of "slow updating" ( chesspower2006 ).
heinzkat, two answers:...because you cannot do it simply with copy and paste ...but because it's not a good reason, I can tell you that I thought that I only could do it like this:
