Message: - Go here: gameknot.com
- Click on | create new annotated game ]
- Click on "Import PGN..."
- Copy/paste the desired PGN
- Click on "Import"
- Annotate the game move by move, using the text area and the arrow buttons/moves list
- Click on "Save" after you are finished
- If you want the game to be publicly available, click on "Options..." and select "make this annotated game public (accessible by everyone);", click "Update" and "Save" again
- There it is
Hope this is clear enough.

Message: but it seems to read that he'd like someone else to annotate the game. Or am I reading too much into your post zfreez?

Message: If you want to find an annotator for the game, you might tell more about it or publish it here.
It's like this ... if it were me, I wouldn't dream of annotating certain openings I never played
but would on ones in areas of expertise. Others sometimes feel that way and it would only
help you to get the most knowledgeable job done.
B) If you simply take the ideas from heinzkat and publish it here in annotated games with
your own thoughts on it ... it will surely draw some annotations from others, if you ask again
and link to it here.
C) If this is like the best game of your life and you want it professionally annotated, there are
any number of highly ranked or titled players who do that for a fee too. If you want something
autographed to frame onto the wall of your den :))
D) Also, because he is so modest ... wschmidt didn't mention, you might want to join his
Coaching Club to get some annotations there too. By forums there or a coach type perhaps :)
G/L ! Hope it goes well. Greetings everyone and bye ...Craig A.C.

9/29/2008 04:18:50 [ report abuse ] | ZFREEZ ... Just saw your Question~!
Message: Just in case its not been answered, or someone else needs to know; this is about your Aug.10 Question: How to link your/an annotated game to here in a Forum thread?
***
First you would enter it to the Annotated Games section as a PGN IMPORT, or just COPY & PASTE it in, or even hand type it there. As long as it is put in there in the acceptable PGN-like format. (And on GK that includes using CAPITAL letters "O" when denoting O-O or O-O-O . It will not SAVE if you try to use ZEROs or the small letter "o". Such as 0-0 or o-o-o, etc. ) Once you have it entered, do be sure to SAVE it then and there! (which I sometimes forget, and everything gets lost). You can add any notes you want to make and must SAVE again to retain those too however. And use the Public Game "OPTION" when saving it the final time, when you are satisfied with it.
***
After it is saved and ready to go, you can verify it has shown up as PUBLIC by clicking your own NIK zfreez and seeing your PROFILE page, which will then appear to you as others on the site see it. And if your game is successfully made PUBLIC, it will show up there that you have "ANNOTATED GAMES- 1 ". So just click on THAT, & it takes you to a list of all your Annotated Games. Select that game (from the list of games if you have added more games annotated) and click on either the ANNOTATE or the COMMENTS option, depending which format you wish to link people into from the Forum thread.
*****
When you have done that, if you are using the IE7 browser, it should show you the URL being present in the HTTP box right up top, from which you COPY it then.
If your browser does not show the HTTP box, then RIGHT CLICK and it should give you an Option such as "Show Source" or "Properties", which you click on. And the URL will be revealed within the info that comes-up. COPY URL, including even the part that says " ". And everything that follows that. It may look something like this (but without the additional spaces I had to create in my example in order to keep it from actually making a LINK now ; for that changes the visible appearance of it.)
h t t p : / / gameknot.com/annotation.pl/mikeneals-mini-tournament.pl?gm=223
***
Then come here to the thread you wish to make the LINK to your game in.
[Just FYI, see bottom of the page where it explains how to INSERT LINKable items such as player PROFILE or BOARD NUMBER, etc. But this is easier and those are not even needed to make the hyperlink you want to. Now back to doing That.]
.....................
Prepare now to make a thread post as you normally would. Put in your Subject, then start your message. I don't think you can start a LINK in the first space here in the MESSAGE section tho. It would not accept that in the past. So just type in whatever word, sentence or paragraph(s) you wish, as normal; as long as it covers the first space up. When you want to put in the LINK just position your curser there and click PASTE so that the entire URL you copied shows up there.
***
[Now it is best to make a COPY of your entire POST in case something goes wrong. If it does, you will just be able to RE-PASTE it ALL here with one click. Otherwise it is a hassle to redo, especially since the act of clicking POST or PREVIEW makes your pasted URL become altered, and that is why you copy here now, to have it in its original form if you need to re-paste.] Now it is time to click POST until your post is saved, as normally done.
gameknot.com
gameknot.com/annotation.pl/mikeneals-mini-tournament.pl?gm=223
********************************************************
What I did above: The first shows your LINK as it will be altered to appear so that people may click directly upon it and be linked directly to your game. The second that I put there shows that you can instead also show them the URL so that they may COPY & PASTE it themselves if desired ... and that is created just by taking off the H T T P: // portion from the URL you pasted. Sometimes I show both as a convenience to them, or in case the direct LINK does not function. But it is not required.
***
Hope this has been mostly understandable. Sorry it is so wordy, but the night is long. Regards, Craig & Good-Luck with it too. I probably make it sound much harder than it really is/
[ If you do have any Questions about it, please let me know....
On second thought, it might be quicker to simply ask heinzkat, since that's what I'd probably have to do too~! }8-)) ... ]

Message: To CCMCA's posting: you can manually enter the moves of the game as well (instead of importing a PGN), by just clicking and moving the pieces on the board.
