Subject: thanks
Message: I want to setup a post especially for heinzkat. Maybe we should all thank him for his contribution on this gameknot forum.Always there to help people and answer their questions. Also he is almost the first to tell if there are new features on this site(should it be not gameknot who must tell us?).For me I must say:"thanks heinzkat, for doing this all for us.
I know that other people also have their contribution to this forum, but for me,I appreciate him for his work.
thanks.

Message: Thanks, Heinzkat!
J.D, I must ask a few questions...
1. Are a subscribed player working with Gameknot and getting some compensation for being the "hall monitor" of the forums, so to speak? (To just be clear, I think you do a great job of it, that's not meant to be mocking.) If so, that's cool, I don't have a problem with it... I was just wondering. Or, do you just love Gameknot and devote many hours a day to the site and playing chess?
2. What's your favorite brand of ketchup ( www.heinzketchup.com)? A little US humor there, I suppose. In your profile, you mentioned, at one time, that Heinz Kat was/is a favorite comic or cartoon character of yours.
3. How many hours _do_ you spend on Gameknot a week? :)
Thanks again,
Matt

Message: 1. No, GameKnot's staff has never asked me to do anything on this forum. I do not think these forums are that actively read, to be honest, but for those who do my writings might be of interest. But I got sort of a "compensation" in the form of a "lifetime membership" a while ago, but that has little to do with these things I write in these forums, I think.
2. I never eat ketchup, I can't advise anything about that. My username was chosen randomly (somehow my 'favorite', a word joke based on my name, was already in use) and with little thought behind it (nothing to do with ketchup in all cases). I just was asked by "non-chessplaying" (do not know how to say it in another way) friends from school to play them (they were already heatedly playing each other, with a stalemate as summit of their brilliancies) here on GameKnot, well I didn't think much of playing with time controls like three days per move, and as they had chosen quasi-random names as well, I just chose a random name so I could show off how harshly I could beat them up (ahum!) and then leave GameKnot as it was. But somehow I got involved in more games, had to stick with the Heinzkat name, and the rest is history.
I did make a website about the Dutch comic cartoon character Heinz (and used to have an additional writing about it in my additional information); that's true. I set up a Heinz internet forum in 2004 which is highly popular - about ten people still post their semi-witty concerns there every now and then :-)
3. Approximately 168.
I hope this answers your questions sufficiently.

Message: There are 168 hours in a week (a little more if you want to get very technical about the Earth's rotation), hence giving a certain degree of humor to heinzkat's self-deprecating sarcasm, which, unfortunately, is rather diminished by this post explaining it :-)

Message: I actually think it's quite funny that tag is five yrs old, especially considering he registered in 2004, i.e. when he was ONE. It's beautiful, I can't wait to see what he grows to AND would like to add, now is the time to beat him before he reaches Magnus Carlsen quality.
Cheers mates
have fun
Peter
PS I am saddened though by the fact that the coming world champ isn't recognised by the spelling device ;-(
