Subject: Chess tournament with other sites
Message: I know the idea is not new, but what do you say about creating tournament(s) between gameknot and other sites. Can have several level (the same way as it happens in the Gameknot Tournaments i.e. Advanced, Intermediate, Casual).
Comment about it ;) !!!

Message: .....I captained a match between GK and FICGS (which we won:). It was a dozen players per team broken down into classes. Matches with other sites are fun, but I will tell you that to be successful GK will need someone to totally take ownership of the captaincy. In my experience, it took about 2 months of negotiating match parameters with my counterpart, and the match itself took many, many months. My suggestion for future matches with other sites is that our captain hammer out the match rules with another site's captain BEFORE even announcing it here on GK. Get all of your ducks in a row, then simply post a sign up sheet here in the forums (ideally, based on a certain # of players per class), along with the match rules. DO NOT leave anything to chance, and DO NOT solicit advice from ANY of the participants - I know this sounds harsh, but when was the last time chess players agreed on anything? Create your system, explain it thoroughly, and leave it to the players to decide if they want to participate. I say this up front just to save someone a lot of headaches. Remember, the faster everything is set the faster play can begin (which keeps interest up). An educated guess is that if GK can identify our captain, our opponent, our team, and match parameters today, it will still be several weeks for our opponents to get squared away. I wish you luck kingkong75, if it is you who decides to take on this responsibility. My match was 12 vs 12, which is a decent size, and it took a good bit of work on my part. I hope that the next captain can learn from my experience.

PS - I'd be willing to participate in an event, but do not wish to captain the team.

Message: If there is any player in Gameknot, that wants to be the captain for this kind of tournament, declare your interest in here. I don't have time to organize it, but don't mind to participate in.
