I know it's a while since you posted about this but I'm going to answer it anyway.
I wouldn't recommend chess programming for a novice programmer, but if your'e still interested you should check out the alpha-beta algorithm and also find some decent board evaluation algorithms. There are probably many implementations of board evaluation around, and the alpha-beta algorithm should be easy to find if you do a search.
PS! Send me a pm if you want to learn more, and I'll tell you what I know about the subject.

What I meant is all your games in these matches are team efforts, and you are carrying the entire team. If you want to fiddle-fart in some, make those games individual challenge matches, in which you are on your own. But in team efforts, remember the team in your play. For which, Richard is to be commended (and he is enjoying summer too)

stinky, have you tried using a different browser, like Mozilla or Mozilla Firebird (which is what I use. It's small than Mozilla). Once you have tried but Mozilla, then you can determine if this is problem with your machine or just IE.
