 Subject: lords of the teams resurected

special thx to luc who will come back to GK after a 'little' break.
of course 'lords of the teams resurected' will not be our team name.
...would be funny tho...
i would like to take a vote together with the first new members about the team name, i just can't decide...
first i was thinking about some comment like names like:
- From dust till pawn
- out of my pawns ashes
- kiss my pawns a...
- ...that's my Queen!
- not without my Queen
- a Pawns life (i realy like this one...)
- sixtyfour sqares
- Inukshuk (thats from my girl, it's one of those inuit piles of stones to mark the hunting grounds and to show others that 'we where here'. and it means more:

(i would have some great team logos for that...)
but then i thought some real name would be better like this top 10:

(only 7 i could think about, sorry about that, but u may have some suggestions?)
so, in this temp. forum you'll be able to vote about the team name, say hi to the others or just wine about the neighbors dog, because he ate your cat and choked to death...
special thx also to chees, dialos, carlos, experimentator, lordnguyeno and ken1 who managed to answer my msg's within like an hr or so...
i'll be allways there for you!

oh, please, we will need some one to make a home page for us, i could do it, but i'm not very creative... clems did a great job for the old team, and i was thinking about something like that for the future. i would like to have additionaly a private forum on the team page, so we don't have to post in 'public' again.

experimentator thank you for joining!
experimentator will have a time out for a little while to straighten things out. he'll be available for team matches soon again. maybe a different time frame to move in the team games would help you?
for everyone else:
teams now are able to decide if they would like to have 3, 5 or 7 days per move.
me personaly am fan about 3 days per move. (but it will then be for all players in the match included!)
if you would prefer (doesn't mean you will get it) 5 or 7 days per move i'll respect that and may splitt up the team into 3, 5 and 7 days per move players to simplify team matches for the other captains.
also, please don't forget to set in your [preferences] your max team games +1
thats very important!
(i would love if everyone would be on unlimited and win them all, but thats not do-able, i know that)
slowly the team is coming together and by the middle of this week i'll start sending out team matches, so please have everything updated by then, i'll match by availability.

I'd like to see more friendly names in our new team soon, we could be very good indeed!
Name of the team is not so important, I think. If you ask me, Pawns life would be nice, but kai_sim has the right to decide...
I have one question about scoring team games. As you know, I left LOTT team with 7 unfinished games. Yesterday, when I wasn't member of any team I won one of those games. What happens now? I joined our new team and in active games have seen my unfinished games from LOTT period as active games for new team. Personally, I have no problem with that, positions are good, but it's simply not right. What do you think?

the rule is strikt and simple: in case of switching teams, team games will be counted towards the score of the old team. so, it depends on how important your rating is to yourself, otherwise you'll help your previous team.
I would also like to welcome chees on our team, one of the strongest players on GK and in the 'top veterans table' on place 26, going up!

I hope I can contribute a lot to our new team, and will do my best. Now about a name for our team? Thats a hard one ;-). I do however have a few suggestions: 1. Chesslovers; 2. Worldwide chess; 3. Chess forever; Besides that I also like 64 Squares. One of the names suggested by Kai. Iīm however not so delighted about the name Black and White, suggested by Carlos. Isīnt it a name of a Whisky ( I prefer Ballentine whisky ;-)).

i received a message from lordoftherings this morning(he sends it for the whole team) saying he'd been having a health problem.he didnt say if he will be back soon or not but i will wait a few weeks to see how this turns out and then will decide on what to do.for those that are just left,you can read the whole message at LOTT current team forum.

now whats bothering me on "kings of chess" is that not every player is a 2100+ player and i think it's to close to 'lords of the rings' , 'lords of the teams' , 'lords of chess'... i think thats too much.
i like something more modern like progressive chess or chess tech, isn't that what we are playing?

to be honest, to kings of chess i say no, because we are not the kings of others and it's too obvious and maybe to powerfull for the lower rated players.

Anyway: Iīm not so fund of the name Inukshuk. How much I do understand Kaiīs feelings about the name (see the first post on this page) I donīt think itīs a good name for a chessteam: 1. The name is in no way related to the name chess; 2. I donīt think any potential new members looking for a team will stumble upon a team by this name. No, I think the name of our team at least in some way should be related to chess. But thatīs of course only my opinion. Others may think different.

i also decided to send out the first team challenges because as it appears i have 4 players ready. i put myself into the race to be able to play the first team match for this team. an honor i would like to give to myself and hope no one will mind.
