In fact a couple of months ago I made the exact same plea in an old thread to all team captains not to hide their online status so that real time negotiating could take place on team matches. If, for whatever reason a captain feels compelled to hide his online status (perhaps he is hiding out from the law, or perhaps he has an old girlfriend that is stalking him), he can easily switch it on and off. But, if he is looking for team games his online status needs to be visible, unless, as kai says, he prefers to wait a week for games.

I understand if you want to study your game archives, or read in the forum, or whatever. Maybe you don't want to be disturbed by something like, ummm......making chess moves! I do agree though, if you decide to take the responsability of being a team captain you should have to give up the luxury of hiding from everyone. Good point, I hope it is considered. I would like to see: - No legal disclaimer - No more people crying about people getting banned TAKE A TIMEOUT FROM THE FORUMS YOUR SPENDING WAY TO MUCH TIME HERE!!! Get a life or maybe even PLAY SOME CHESS!!!! (Now all the forum freaks are gonna hate me! or maybe I'll get banned!) - I do like the team games to zero, that way I would have to remember who has requested a break. - the 2 days per move NO WAY!!! personally it doesn't bother me two move every 2 days because I make moves everyday, BUT not everyone else does and I have enough trouble with my team timing out with 3 days -What I would really like to see on gameknot is the ability to challenge another player in Blitz Chess, and not just random matches. - Access to the complete Gameknot Game Archives for paying members. Not just my own but all of them. I realize this is not logical due to the amount of games played since the site was started and it would take a massive system to work it out. - FREE T-SHIRTS for paying members, or maybe one of those nifty coffe mugs, heh heh!

If my team is accepting challenges the green light will be on, if they are not the green light will be off. Very simple way of managing a team. I got challenged one Sunday afternoon by a dozen other captains once when we was not accepting challenges. I even had it plainly on our team page, yet the challenges kept coming. So I made a decision to start hiding my status, this is an excellent way of filtering out some of the challenges that you will only be declined.
