Ok people. The time for my possibly prolonged absence has come.
(Those who wish to rejoice can do that but please just wait until I have left the building :P)
The reason fr this is because I have finished exams (or finally will this afternoon) and will be going home for a vacation. I am currently not sure about the connection I might or might not have at home as my parents have moved since I was last there. So If you see that I postponed my games the outcome wasn't quite favourable. In that case I wish all of you a happy holiday season and I will be back to bother you early next year.
If however I have a connection at home I'll still be bothering you sporadically for the next couple of weeks but my activity will lessen considerably.
On that note cap'n please remember that I won't be available for more games until my situation has stabilised.
Good luck with your games everybody and I hope to see the team (and the forum) in good shape when I return. I don't want to turn my back and have everything falling apart :P ... You never know with the people you get to "mind the shop" in your absence. :P
Don't let any Kiltless men get you.

Yes, it was a great game..managed to get a ticket on friday. Sorry to intrude in your forum but you seem more sports orientated than ours. We had more possesion than the Aussies but they defended well, could have gone either way really. Do you think Wilkinson will ever be the player he was before that injury ? I'm not so sure...hope I am wrong though..

i would like to explain something to the team which may help us all in the future. there has been more than one occasion where some of you have asked members to join the team. i appreciate everyone helping in anyway they can. the onlyu problem is sometimes i dont know anything about it and i may not have room for that person at that moment. we have had alot of new members in the past few weeks but we have also lost several members. some of you may not be aware of losing members because i dont announce it like i do when they arrive. sometimes losing members (depending how it happens) can be a negative thing and i try to stay away from that. anyway what im trying to say is...i can only manage so many people and i try to keep the team limit set at around 30. right now i think we have 32. im just asking each member to discuss with me before you ask someone to join the team. i dont say this because i want to be the boss of everything but ultimately i am the one who must deal with each member. there has been more than one instance where someone acted on their own in recruiting someone and at the time i didnt have room for a memer. this has caused some ill feelings at times and i dont want this. some of you have recruited some great members even more so than me but... i cant manage 100 people so please lets discuss recruiting before you ask someone. i dont like saying no but i have to have a cut off limit. i have passed over some really good players but... we cant have everyone on the team :) im thankful for all the members here and you are all a great asset to the greatest team on gk.

It's time for me to say publicly how good it makes me feel to have our captain back in the forums where he belongs, and to join the other members in welcoming our newcomers to the finest and best team anyone could wish to belong to. The end of 2004 is rapidly approaching, and as is the case with most years there are many things that are eminently forgettable, but at the same time there were many unforgettable events also. I look forward to charging into 2005 and being part of the best year GBH will ever have, except for 2006, 2007 and every year after that as well :)) It is so easy to write the words "proud to be a member of Global Bounty Hunters" on our profiles, but the fact is, we have damned good reason to be proud. Proud of ourselves for finding this team, proud of our fellow members who give so much in their games for the team, and proud of the captain who bows his knee to nobody and has the backbone to take repeated bannings and come back as strong as ever. I just want to salute each and every member of this mighty band of people.

Firstly a belated welcome to cliffontas, as Mark and others have said, this really is the best team on GK. I hope you enjoy your time here, I'm sure you'll find your teamates friendly and supportive :)
Rugby, Rugby, Rugby.....okay okay, so Australia thrashed us both in Union and League play. Hands raised, I admit it, well played :). leo_london, firstly, I'm extreamly jealous that you got tickets to the match!! I heard it though, live a couple of miles from the stadium and the roar of the crowd really travels across the river :) Can Wilkinson return to pre-injury form? Physically, yes I think he can. I've watched him play for many years, since he was still at school and he has the youth, strength and athlectic ability to get through it. Whether he will still be the Perfect 10, I think could be more an issue of mind over matter. His kicking ability I'm fairly sure will still be the best in the world, but that, of course, in itself does not make for the perfect flyhalf. It's going to be difficult to tell, until we actually see him back in action if he will still be as versatile on the field and still willing to go in for the tackles, run the ball and pass it, rather than kick downfield or for touch. That is more to do with confidence I think. He needs a strong scrum-half too to feed to him, and honestly I dont think Gomarsall is up to it. He will certainly miss Dawson there. Without Clive Woodward as coach anymore, I think the focus of the team will be different. Woodward was tough, but he got results, Robinson is not the same. Similarly with the retirement of former experienced captains Johnson and Leonard from the international game, Jonny will find he is under more pressure, perhaps without the support he is used to. Whilst Wilkinson needs to dictate the pace and direction of the game himself, support from some of the older, or at least equally experienced, players I believe will prove essential. I think he can do it, just hope he have the confidence to!! Just my opinion anyway :)
Mark, we are saving you by not mentioning the USA/Australia match, we really are. Hope your guys are still alive after it ;).
Well ccmcacollister, how do you know about Wilkinson's "big stick" eh? ;)
(Teasing, teasing, really....oh okay, how much of a head start do I need?) :)
To the rising number of groupies....maybe it's coz we were told not to talk to strangers :)
Team stuff.....we are back now to +49, and hopefully will continue to climb from here. I'd like to echo muppyman, this is such a fantastic team and we're privileged to be members, such a great group of people, thanks to our Captain.

i never dreamed i would get this much out of team back when richardwyles and i started the team over 2 years ago. players have come and gone but the true bounty hunters stick with the team. even had one player ( hellonwheels ) pass on while a member of the team. hopefully i will be lucky enough to play on this team for years to come. :)
