Hello everybody!!
Welcome to the official Dangerous Toy's Team Forum. This is a Forum page for
members, opponents, victims, and fans alike. Everybody is welcomed! Feel free to post
questions here regarding Chess, players, games, positions or whatever else you want.
As far as discussing Games and positions. Please keep discussion to completed games
as it would be unfair to discuss an on-going game.
At this time we are rated 1348 and our ranking is 23rd place. We have 67 completed
games and have 193 active games.

I am glad to say that Dangerous Toys has members from all over the world and
members of all ratings. We are accepting new members but are particularly interested
in trying to feel our empty spots as follows...
1. 800-1100
2. 1800-1899
3. 2000+
At this time I would like to recognize rubar10 for taking on an ungodly amount
of games. Especially since his original request was for only 20 games. This is NOT a
downplay of anyone else on this team. We all have lives outside of GameKnot. Because
of this, each of us can only play so many games. Some of us have more time then
others. This is very VERY understandable (I myself can only play a few games). Each
and everyone of you are important to Dangerous Toys but I would still like to
occassionally point out certain members as I feel recognition is in order. I hope and
pray that nobody ever feels left out.
Also, I would like to thank Team Cupwinkcook, Global Bounty Hunters, Process not
substance, SEA Lions, Vlad's Impalers, Chessworld of Peace and all the other teams
above for helping Dangerous Toys get started. Special mention to The Pawn Stars and
their wonderful captain xena SHMBO! Don't worry Xena, someday... you guys can be
just like us! Aint that right rupert29 ?

Thanks for that roxonal...ain't you just about the bestest Eternal Rival we have? I am wonderful... I'll be the first to admit it. Er...that's SWMBO though...a small point, but important. Good to see that your team forum is up and running as promised, but what happened to my title suggestion? I thought 'Dangerous Toy Story' was a good one. Oh well never mind, I'm sure you'll use it next time. Fancy mentioning Nutkin's (that's rupert29 for the uniformed) name though..that lowers the tone straight off.

Don't wanna be like you Rupert...sorry to break the news. Anyway roxanol mentioned your name after mine, so I am clearly WAY more important than you. Anyway I've just popped in to issue an invitation to The Social Event Of The Season, namely The Pawn Stars Xmas Party which will be happening at a, as yet, unspecified forum location. The theme is yet to be decided..it's down to coming as an 'X' or a 'W'. I'll let you know about that. Formal invites will be issued, this is just a preliminary notification so you can all rustle up a date. Yes, even you Rupert..there's hope for everyone :-)

Yes, I definitely care but, as mentioned... I do not know and I am trying to find out. I have never had a complaint from him nor any messages from him. I am working on it and I will get back to everybody soon.
As for "The Social Event of the Season" I think it would be quite interesting for xena and rupert29 to go as a date. :) I could be the chapirone.
madmsurf has a new interesting line that he played against one of his opponents as follows...
1. e4 e6
2. d4 Nf6
3. e5 Nd5
4. c4 Nb6
It is kinda like a Alekhine meets The French. I think (but am not sure) this has been played before. I will look it up in my opening references. Does anyone know of this line or have any ideas about how to play it? I have not looked at the game yet so I cannot comment on it. If anyone would like to... here it is: board #2472816
Ooops!! Never mind! It seems the game is still in progress. Therefore please do not give any analysis but I still posted the link above.

I do not know what to say about Mr.Mikey. He's a Dork? Maybe, but lets see...
1. He quit the team.
**Nothing wrong with that. Each member is free and welcomed to leave as they wish. Dangerous Toys is not a prison. Anyone wishing to quit the team has my support and will still be considered a friend of our team.
2. He resigned all his team games.
**OK, this one is a little harder to deal with since some of his games were barely 10-15 moves deep. A few were clearly still in the opening. If you want to quit the team, well OK but atleast play out your remaining games. Anyways... I gave him the benefit of a doubt... maybe he has a personal problem and he can not play on GK any longer. Well, atleast he resigned his games instead of just letting them timeout. After all, he is down to 2 games only (2 days ago), maybe those will time-out or he will resign those too???
3. He is back up to 9 games (as of 10 December 2004).
**Ok, here is where I decided this guy is just a loser. Someone with no professionalism nor with any respect for other players here on GK. Since quitting the team and forfeiting his games... he has started 7 new games. That just isn't right. Nor is it fair to my team mates. Everybody (EVERYBODY) worked hard to bring this new team into the top 25 it just is not fair that this loser dropped the team even out of the top 100.
I will gather my thoughts and write to Mike (webmaster) and ask if anything has been done wrong here. I know purposely resigning games in order to benefit ones own rating is against the rules. I am sure some other rules have been broken, I just have to read through them.
The only other option is that he has not started any new games and those 9 new games are mini-tournament games which everybody knows are started automatically. Then again it does say he was last on-line 4 hours ago. So, I doubt it???
Any support or info would be appreciated as I see this as a direct attack on our team. Any support that I recieve when I take this to Mike will also be appreciated.

that is unfortunate business, I don't get it. Perhaps the webmasters can prevent players who do this without cause or in bad faith (presuming that is what happened here) from joining other teams. One can change one's name, sure, but that's just not professional.

Das finde ich sehr nett von Ihnen mich aufzunehmen. Es ist schön ein paar Junge leute um mich herrum zu haben. Ich bin ja schon lange Oma und freue mich auf meine alten Tage ein paar schöne Spielchen zu haben. Es ist nur manchmal schwer für mich so lange nachzudenken. Konzentrieren ist anstrengend und ich bin schon zweimal dabei eingeschlafen und bin aufgewacht als mein Enkelchen von der Schule nach Hause gekommen ist und mich aufwecken mußte. Der Computer ist in seinem Zimmer und es ist auch seine Schuld das ich hier spiele! Ha ha! Der hat mir gezeigt wo und wie ich spielen kann, so daß ich nicht immer gegen die dummen Rentner gewinne. Nun habe ich aber meinen Mund ein bisschen zu weit aufgerissen, weil ich ja selber Rentner bin.

My own personal note: I like these type of games where each player is chasing after the other King on opposite sides of the board. Opposite side castling is always interesting. I have to say, this was a close one, White looked like he was close to getting his Queen to g7 while it looked like Black would never be able to fully attack c2, yet she did!!

I did take a look at the game prior to its posting here and I was impressed with the bishop move. And judging from the many comments our German teammate has made here, she has a lot of spun on and off the chessboard.

I dont understand why white play 6 f3? he could have kept the pressure with 6 Nb5 white also make another mistake with 20 g5 but the bigger mistake was 23 bxc which lead to mate in 4 moves. if white want to defend he need to play 23 Bd3 though that also lose.
