Message: 1) The captains responsibility is mainly to set up challenges for the team members. On top of this, most captains will try and do a little more, like managing who is in the team (players that leave GK still appear in your team after they have left the site, etc). many captains also try to encourage discussions within the team, arrange team MTs and various other social type ideas - most captains would try and get other players involved in these activities. i don't know many team captains at GK who have that position so that they can run their own little kingdom!! most seem to do it for the benefit of themselves and other players.
2) Once you have set up a team, the captain go view the team page for any other team. An option will exist to 'challenge team'. A list of players will then be shown adn you can select whichever players you want to include in the challenge. At this point, the system will not let you select players who cannot play due to game number restrictions, etc.
3) Minimum of 2 players per team. No maximum limit (as far as I know!!)
4) The cahllenging team will challenge with a few of their team members. the other team simply matches against these players. So, the size of the overall team is irrelevant to the match itself.
5) Both captains must agree a set of player pairings before the match begins. A captain can therefore arrange pairings within whatever rating ranges he feels is acceptable.
I hope this explains a bit of what you wanted to know. If you have any other questions, just send me a PM and I'll do all i can to help
Thanks and Good Luck
