 Subject: #19 The Pawn Star Awards: Yada Yada Yada

Have you ever noticed when you have an idea for a THEME for a forum and you announce it and then it takes you two days to come up with a title and then ya kinda think " why..oh why.. did I decide to do this?" What's up with that?
Anyway this shall be the venue for our very own Annnual Twice -Yearly- Pawn Star Awards. I have a SEINFIELD THEME going on here ( hint, see title) so it would be REALLY nice if you indulge me with this.
And remember; it's not a lie if you believe it.

Now that Heath is finally here, I would like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE in the team, both past and present, for helping keep the The Pawn Stars going for one year ( next week) I would also like to thank the Rivals and Hangers On for spicing it up a little along the way. Ok, so, it isnt the Grammy's but I got an Award!!! Yeah!!!! I was so happy and excited I sent a message to my whole team! Unfortunately I have not been myself lately, must be all the paparrazi? But, I am now seeing my therapist again and hope to be back on track soon so next year I will win more awards. Maybe take some of the spotlight from chiliman? Just kidding, of course.

You may or may not know (or even care ) but today is The Pawnstar's First Birthday. Yes it was EXACTLY one year ago that I thought 'I'm bored today, so I will create a chess team and I will rule it with a will of iron'. So here we are, one year later..and what a year it has been. Now we have forty members, are notorious in a notorious sort of way and we exercise complete domination over the team forums...well done everybody. We aren't too bad at chess sometimes either. Co-Captain Coach and I would just like to thank ALL of you for helping keeping the team alive for this long. In particular, we would like to thank the founding members (aside from us) namely aucklander7, carol45 and derminator (there were a couple of others but they escaped a while back) Just think, you have many many MANY more years to look forward to with me and Coach as your captains...you lucky things. Now to celebrate this momentous, and somewhat touching moment, you're all allowed some champagne ...but not in the good glasses.

This week I would like to bring your attention to one of coach's recent games. Seems he hasn't been all that busy playing with Xena in the dark lately.
In the game we see him give 9 straight checks till he hounds them to mate. Sounds like Tag1153 wooing Xena. Pick up the game about move 23! The game board #2721352 Never give up if you have a fighting chance.
To point out a couple of improvement for the sake of learning: On move 19. Na3 was a blunder as the N is picked off after check next. Nd2 and a long castle by white would of given him a great game as the king side pawns can be pushed.
Also on move 23.Ke2 by white - Rc1 was better as this only gives up a pawn and white has a few to spare.
The second game is one of ibex's The opponent walks into a discovered check at move 20. The game board #2533160 One of my coaching phrases is "set up you pins and discovered checks and use them" Well used by ibex here.
Chess is a game where a gnat may drink and an elephant bath.
