I suddenly receive a notice from GK that my premium subscription has been received. Our captain seemingly knows nothing about it and simply infers that somebody must like me. I can say only two things. 1/ It was a generous and most friendly gesture. 2/ I have been simultaneously on five (count em, five) other chess sites, and doing reasonably well on all of them, but from this moment I will play out all games thereat, begin no more, (the old shrinking lid syndrome) and concentrate all my chess endeavours on GK and play almost exclusively for the King of teams. ......................Bows very humbly and exits stage rear.

Wow! It is good to be back in the internet world and especially on Gameknot and mainly to the GBH!!! Guys I apologise BIG time for my unexpected prolonged absence. I cost the team points by timeout and our captain has been gracious enough to not boot me from the team. In short what happened is I moved out to the countryside and my ISP promised me I would not miss 1 day of service. Well after 1 1/2 months I finally am connected again...albeit much slower than promised. CAP'N lay on those team games now....with my low rating you should be able to get me some easy matches so I can redeem myself to my team mates!

Does anyone know of cheap places to stay near Ingolstadt and interesting places near it? I am due there for a conference at the end of October and would like to extend my stay at my own expense, but the hotel my company booked me in is quite expensive ~ EU180 per night.
Is Ingolstadt safe for tourist?

luck was fairly evenly shared. Just seems that we have a young side on the way up, the Aussies are an aging team on the way down. We have waited a long time, think we deserve our taste of victory. We do thank you for helping us out with the odd player though...any more youngsters coming through ?...they are all welcome.

it is my goal that our entire team become paid members. i realize that this isnt possible for everyone possibly because of financial reasons. so anyone that is able i ask you to become a paid member or even better if you can afford to help out a fellow team mate that would be fantastic!! its possible that everyone here has already done all they can do. many of you have already helped out fellow team mates and for this im thankful. so if your able to help someone or yourself become a paid member that would be great. if not , i completely understand. being a paid member will allow us to have team tourneys at anytime without delay and also allow everyone to take part in the clubs (if you so desire) not to mention our pics will be large enough for everyone to be jealous of :) once again im thankful for this team and all the effort you guys and gals have put forth. im also thankful for the generosity already shown by several of you. this is truely the best team on gk.
