Subject: Nightfever 5
Message: Last post Velvetvelour.....
Okay, convalensce over. Like a paper cut, it's quick, painful, but the recovery time is neglible.
Bring on the team matches; like a Spartan woman, I will either impale my enemy with a spear to display in the Night Fever hall, or carry my own body back on my shield.
And some jokes :) The bottom one is best.
Q What did the Momma Buffalo say to her child as he left for school?
A Bison
A man walked into a bar and sat down, ordered a beer.
As he sipped the beer, he heard a soothing voice say,
"Nice tie!"
Looking around he noticed that the bar was empty except for himself and the bartender.
A few sips later the voice said,
"Beautiful shirt."
At this, the man called the bartender over.
"Hey, I must be losing my mind," he told the bartender.
"I keep hearing these voices saying nice things, and there's not a soul in here but us."
"It's the peanuts," answered the bartender. "They're complimentary."
Q What did the grape say when the elephant stepped on him?
A Nothing. He just let out a little wine.
Q What do you call cheese that isn't yours?
A Nacho cheese.
Q What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino?
A 'ell if I know.
(This is my dad's favourite) A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Amal." The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his Mom. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responds, "But they're twins. If you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal."
Recently someone nearly got away with stealing several paintings from the Louvre. However, after planning the crime, breaking in, evading security, getting out, and escaping with the goods, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas.
When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such a foolish error, he replied, "I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh."
A polar bear walks into a bar and says, "I'll have a large orange juice . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . on the rocks."
The bartender served the juice and said, "Here it is, but why the big pause?"
"I don't know," the polar bear replied. "I've always had them."

10/31/2005 13:54:40 [ report this post ] | Spartan Woman - Velvet Velour
Message: Marriage for a Spartan woman was an almost non-ceremonial event. The woman was abducted in the night by her suitor, her head was shaved, and she was made to wear men's clothing and lye on a straw pallet in the dark. From there on she would meet with her husband for almost entirely procreative reasons. If she was formerly a girl, she became a woman through marriage. Any Spartan man could abduct a wife, which led to a system of polyandry (many husbands, one wife or vice versa) in Sparta
.....no wonder she's kicking a**...

Message: You have to pay to get "in da club" :-P "don't cha"? <-- how about all those songtitles in there. OH damn I'm doing it again, filling the o so important team forum with complete and utter nonsense (I'm the nonsense-master) Bleh! I live nowhere near London, which has an up- and downside, the upside is: I'm still me and have not moved from my birth-city since, well... birth actually. The downside is not being able to join in al those "tilt one back with me lad!"-meetings in that pub in London... Ah well, you win some you drink some. Drink one for me won't you? You probably will... any excuse is mostly brought forth for drinking some more. Any way, I've been a bit inactive in the forums lately but improving on my teamgames a bit, so I thought let's just write a very long posting for everyone to ingore. Well "Whoop, there't is" <- "I just can't get enough" <- Overdoing it a bit I'm afraid. What was the purpose of this post again... well... I forgot... maybe next time I'll post a game or something, at least that'll be instructive as well as time-consuming; while this is just time-consuming. Ah well... can't be helped...

If people are going to be going away for an entire month they should inform their captains not to give them any team games for that period!!! I'm not a happy bunny.

the postponment system is being mis-used.
then again, i was told that team games cannot be postponed, and that was why i timed-out during 11 games.

Message: Unfortunately Donnie i cant cancel it unless my opponent continues to make their moves (which is what my current opponent who has just postponed our game for 28 days has already done in this game the first time she postponed our game, so that time i did cancel it.) She is married to her team captain though, so maybe she thinks an excuss to mis use the system, especially when her reason for this 28 day postponment is "Taking a short break." Well, love, i'd take my 'breaks' when im not in the middle of games!!
I can't understand why you were told you couldn't postpone team games though Donnie ?

Message: I know how frustrating this can be, but they are still within the rules. If she is a member she can postpone up to 120 days per year. But each time she postpones she will not be able to again for at least a week. I would jsut consider those games won and get on with some other games and just wait them out. I have fuond if you get frustrated by it you only make a stupid move eventually.

Message: The point is Ryan, that within 2 days of us starting our game, she postponed for 2 weeks, during which time she continued to move, so i cancelled the postponment. She then - just little over a week later postponed the game AGAIN for a 28 days.
If you don't want to play, or think you're going to have to make major postponments then you should make sure youre team captain doesn't give you the games in the first place.

12/23/2005 12:37:26 [ report this post ] | Why is there an Angel on the Xmas tree?
Message:
One Christmas, a long time ago, Santa Claus was getting ready for his annual trip; but there were problems ...... everywhere.
Four of his elves were away sick and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones. So, Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.
Then, Mrs. Claus popped in to tell Santa that her mother was coming to stay for Christmas; which stressed him even more.
After a while, he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and run away, heaven knows where to.
Then, when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards broke and several large toy-bags fell to the ground, scattering their contents all over the place. Needless to say, Santa was not in the best of moods.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang and he went to the door expecting another problem. But when he opened it, there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree that she had brought especially to cheer him up.
The angel greeted him very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas Santa Claus. Isn't it just a wonderful day? I have a beautiful tree for you. See, isn't it just the loveliest Christmas tree you've ever seen? Where would you like me to put it?"
Thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Team Captaincy : Night Fever
Our team captain has resigned his teamcaptaincy some time ago by sending a mail to all members of the team. We then started a discussion about who would follow up our team captain and decided for Transdromeda. However, since the team captain is not responding in any way, the teamcaptaincy can't be transferred. The resignation-message from our team captain is added to this mail.
