Okey now do we have a Team side where we can discuss anything, and tell team-mates about anything. To start with telling so have we got down in rating, today 1239, we was over 1300 just some days ago and can climb again. Good luck all, and write all you want to discuss about!

Im glad this site is back for the team! I will try to contibute more in the future.
I have a lot to do this year and the next year so I will keep my activity as low as possible. Unfortunately that also goes for my activity at Tromsø Sjakklubb. I loved teaching school children ones a week and playing in the club and hopefully I will do that again when I have finished my studies. My achievements for the team and myself has also not been too good this autumn, losing almost 100 rating points, but then again I've had opponents averaged a 100 rating points above my rating. I believe thats the only way of really getting better when not time to study chess. No cheap points when the opponent is at 1600 level or more :-) I have been very amazed by Magnus Carlsen's performance in WCC so far. Losing to GM Evgeny Bareev (RUS 2675) isnt excactly a shame. Maybe the way it happened, but time trouble isnt easy to handle, or? So I hope he still will make it to the top 10 in WCC. Well, good luck to you all in your games and in life!

not much activity here. Gustert! Was it really that many who wanted this forum site reopened?
And I can tell that I got a nice victory for the team board #4159953 I felt like facing a slow strangling by my opponent and decided to start a sacrifacing attack, giving away 2 pieces for 2 pawns, ruin his kingside managed to get a powerful attack with the Queen. I guess he could fought on with the knight taking my free pawn, removing the mate threath, but he didnt see that he was under double attack and tried to defend the bishop and faced mate instead. The other game against him is also an exciting game and not sure of the outcome of that game. Here the queenside are closed effectively like a zipper, so everything will happen on the kingside. Who's defencies will hold or maybe it will end in a draw. Also here I thought he came best out of the opening, but think maybe I have equalized it again.....?

To be true so did I restart it direct after norjoas message to me that he gladely saw it reopened. But it will probably take a while before all have checked out where it is and find anything to leave messageas at forum about.
Some of us have had problem with to fast moving instead of time-outs, I have send this message to them;
In this type of chess, not blitz, have you time to check out what your move can give as opportunity both for you and your opponent. Under the board have you a link to analyze the game in, by that you make test moves and check out what can happends, use that before submit sometimes, it will help you to not do mistakes.
but you have 3 days at least, so no reason to hurry! So check before submit (:-) Yes it have happends to me too, and can happends again, but I try by checking before submit to hold the mistakes away from my play!So good luck in your rest of games!

found the forum pages (well hidden deep inside the gameknot.com mace) and will be following it now on. first I would like to talk about the blitz chess-argument. I feel somehow... well, I am a bit oversensitive for the time being. My first team match (against mrvroom) ended somewhat humiliating as I somehow managed to do a really, really bad move - the word mistake comes to mind, as well as some north norwegian words and frames that is better not to publish. But, in the other game against mrvroom I have, to put it mildly either his resignation, or, if he makes a good move; both his rooks and I feel quite secure that I will be able to pull this a shore.
Apropos a shore, there is a dutch artist named bas jan ader that disappeared when he did a performance where he wanted to row across the atlantic in 1975, from the cost of america. He disappeared, but his name didn't.
Anyway, I hope that I can help The Scandinavian team to rise in points.

Have checked a little and by my checking had norjoa won eighter gunars tock the bishop or not. Beside that so have our rating gone down to 1262 today, but will rise tomorrow, by 3 won and 1 lost. Ofcourse is it time left for more games to be finished but by no more losses, so will it rise.

I've looked through your lost game board #4203713 and there was several bad moves in that game :-) Surely not your game! Things like that happens too all of us and maybe you didnt used better time before moving?
In the ongoing game board #4203714 it surely looks like youre gonna win. your oppenent has too look carefully now too not lose very soon. Keep on fighting!
gustert is right that my oppenent most likely would lose anyway after my breakthrough with my queen in board #4159953. But im maybe losing the other game against him board #4159952. I feared 36.... e5! which give him a chance of discovered check and would lead to equalizing in material(Im +3 ahead now. Instead he moved Rh1!?. At first I got reliefed but then discovered that it will maybe give me much trouble. move 37 was a total surprise. So i think that move only give me an opportunity to come back with a better defense. I thought and could see only Nf4 as good by first cover the square f4 with my queen, but not sure its enough. Today I discovered Nh4! which will block the h-pawn of my opponent. So now im dreaming of him not playing h4, so i still can move Nh5. :-)

just lost another team game in a silly way, so there you go, another loss.
To clear things up: I claimed in a PM that in norjoa's game against gunars that gunars 22. move, not taking the bishop was a terrible mistake. I have been thinking something like this:
22. Kh7xg7
23. Dc1-g5+ Kg7 - f7
etc.
I think that the game would at least have lastet/ could have lasted longer. please correct me if I am mistaken.

It had perhaps lasted longer, but that is a move done by a player in the other team, so it isn't anything we can accuse each other about! We play induvidual in team, everyone have to check out so they don't do mistakes, that is the most importent. Lose by a mistake, happends, and winning too, but winning by play well, and lose even that we played well is much better! So play well, check out what your move makes possibilities to before submit it. Some move isn't changing possibilities, but check first opponents move what possibilities it have given, both for you and for the opponent! As I said before we have 3 days to our move, after opponents, use not all, but use as much as it needs, to not have missed anything importent! So I have to stop saying good luck, cause the luck isn't the importent, the importent is to play well, so after this do I have to say, Good luck and play well!

Nice game gustert. Always fun too beat a high rated player.
Too me it looks like im going too win the last game board #4225107 He can now move the king too f2 or f3. If he moves:
42. Kf3 Rg3+ 43. Bxg3 Qg3+ and losing the other bishop as well and threatening the e- and c-pawn
42 Kf2 Qg3+ and he lose the white square bishop for nothing
In both variations I also think my defences are more enough, even for his three passed pawns.

I am following the -> www.worldchesscup2005.com carlsen vs. kamiskygame, and also in a norwegian discussion forum where they use Deep Shredder for analysis -- and carlsen is in every move doing what DS suggest. Interesting is the fact that carlsen plays the same way a computer would have.

It must be another board norjoa! At board #4225107 isn't it possible to do those moves you wrote about. Exept that so had we a bad day 15 november, 5 lost games and no won, maked us 50 rating points down to 1224! Hope it's goes better 16,17,18 and so on :-(

In board #4217023 got I a surprised win, thought he missed my chance to capture rook first, but find then out that he made him self check-mate by not capture knight!
And 16;th December have rised up our team-rating again, perhaps not all ready yet, but
3 won and one lost, but that lost at board #4172846 confused me, with Ng4 had he possibilities to check-mate have to ask him! Check and you will see!

I met a finnish 1620 rated player and I was facing two losses when he did a huge mistake in one of the games board #4225106. In my oppinion he could just have resigned straight away, but decided to keep on for another 30 moves until the very end because he was going for a draw... ?

I haven’t done so well in my team games. Of three ended games I have lost two. One silly loss against hanx91 (-> gameknot.com as the worst. But, and this is a bit out of the team discussion, I won a game in a mini tournament one or two days ago that I am a bit proud of and thus I want to share it with you all:

The initial position is so that the first move was black g6. (5. move, meaning I use only 9 moves).
Well, all bestest in leipzig, I wish you all a "guter rutsch" in to 2006.
(translated it means literary a good slide into the new year, although I read somewhere that the word ‘rutsch’ is hebrew and means something like "start", and "beginning"). Lets have a "fluid transition" (flytende overgang på norsk) as I would say it in my norwegian dialect.

This board #4352085 was a game i was sure too lose with one pawn down, but thought he had too prove it first and slipt in the attempt and now turned into a game i think i will win... I lost the other one! Im trying hard to get rid of my negative team score, but so far staying put at -10. Frustrating! But Im winning more games against 1600-rated players then a year ago, so all in all im satisfied with my performance.

So was it new messages nearly every day here at our side in forum, now seems it like we have to decline it! However we are at 27:th place at GK top list, have 1371 in team rating.
