Dear GBH's HI team, I'm glad to be joining the team and thank you guys for the warm welcome! drtony is aka Tony Bray from Graham , North Carolina. I am 44 old years and I am a MD in solo practice in family medicine. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill....Which I have to boast is the national champion in basketball!!! I was a sophomore in 1982 when Michael Jordan as a freshman hit the winning shot in the championship game against Georgetown. I've been married for 19 years and we have 3 kids, Chris 16, Lauren 11, and Sarah 6. Chess and basketball are my major 2 loves. I look forward to playing great chess, always striving to play better players and get better myself. I played chess as a kid but I had played very little until a few months ago finding this site and now I'm addicted! I look forward to getting to know you guys better. Best Regards to you all drtony

I would like to extend a warm hello to drtony. I know you will enjoy this team as it is composed of the nicest, warmest and most humerous people on the site! I'm thrilled and proud to be a member. Buona Fortuna!
I won my very first "Team Game" against bookie of the English Defense Team - a good feeling and a bigtime relief that my 1st win comes before my 1st loss. ;-D
I played the Bird Opening (sometimes referred to as the reversed Dutch) as white in this game (1.f4) and have had great success with it these past several yrs. Usually, the games for white are aggressive attacking games usually with kingside attacks. Lots of sacs in games (for white!).
If anyone is interested in employing this opening, I would be happy to give some advice and pointers. Just give me a yell!

I think I speak for us all when I say congratulations to drron. Nice work...
I feel like we the team is really getting some momentum right now...great new players...some
much needed bounty by our own peterf...and a Bounty Hunter of the Month contest (as if
we needed more incentive!), which I think is a wonderful idea...Perhaps we could start a
separate thread with the Award Winners on there only....it might need to be brought forward
every month, but no big deal. Then we could see all the great contributors in one place
months from now. Just an idea.
We are on an upswing and things eem very positive right now...'tis the season, perhaps!
Happy hunting...Im gunning for that December trophy Mr Phish!

for those wondering. all brackets are decided except bracket four. if sonofcassia wins there will be a two way tie for first place in that bracket. this will put an extra player in the champions bracket. if this happens the highest ranked remaining player will be placed in the champions bracket as the tourneys only hold an odd number of players. so... if sonofcassia wins then trond will be bumped back into the mix. if sonofcassia loses it will be carpe diem as the only winner. this game is still in doubt very interesting :) stay tuned something will be decided soon. if you are a winner of your bracket please leave room for another tourney as you will be in the champions bracket soon. ;) go bounty hunters!!!

A suggestion: perhaps we ought to rethink what it really means to be the Hunter of the Month...
We have some good players but we also have some that will rarely speak to other members.
wins, participation in the team forum, and participation in team tourneys, willingness to help
team members (paying for memberships) all these determine a good team member..not just
wins...
Actually its many of these other things that makes our team the best...just a thought.
