Subject: cancelling team games
Message: Hi! I wasn't paying proper attention to a team match today and accidently paired a 14xx player of mine with a 14xx player from an opposing team who has his rating thanks to 77 timeouts. :( In reality it looks like he's a 1700+ player.
Does anybody know if cancelled team games are scored as a loss for the team or do they games simply "go away"? I've written my teammate with an apology and told him it would be OK with me if he cancelled the game.

Message: I think you might want to bring this concern to the attention of the GK admins. There might be a perfectly good reason for a player to have 77 timeouts (and that would be good to know in fairness to both players), but I would want that to be objectively evaluated. It isn't fair for any player to have an opponent with an artificially low rating. I think there is a specific rule against that.
Perhaps the admins can cancel the game if they find there has been some ratings manipulation...

Message: There is an option to cancel any game on GK but only during the first two moves, after which it cannot be done.

Message: Even during those first 2 moves, team/tourney and league games can not be cancelled, although the link is there. If you try to cancel it, you will receive an error message in those kind of games.

Message: The admins can over-ride any rule if there is a sufficient reason. I would think that unsupported resignations and timeouts could be acted upon should they seem suspicious.

Message: Just because a player has a lower rating than his usual due to time-out, it doesnt mean he is cheating. Besides that, if tries to decide/act about games on a case to case basis,he will have no time left for any thing else...
Always general rules are more efficient, ofcourse there will be a problem every now and then: they are not perfect but so is life...

Message: even if you prove that the opponent player is cheating, unfortunately GK admins dont not cancel the game. The only thing they do is to stop him to communicate , write message on the board etc. But if the cheater wins , his team's rating increases. Nothing changes.
On the other hand, a higher rating player which lost ratings due to time outs seems also cheating while his captain allows him to match with a lower opponents. As a captain i cannot follow up all opponents players rating trend. So what to do?
Nothing than analysing every opponent team games ratings ratios with private game ratio, time outs, etc...
And it means lots of time for the captains...
