 Subject: Lion Tamers

Hi Team
This is the offical place to chat for the lion tamers, currently there are 2 things we are discussing Timeout Policy which has had lots of positive feedback so far after just 1 day so thanks to all who replied.
Secondly we have had an offer from one of our members to start an external homepage so come on guys post your ideas for the page here and remember to keep it on a lighthearted note nothing too serious.

This team gets far too many timeouts. I don't win that much, but I almost never time out. Losing to a better player, and timing out are completely different. I don't have a specific suggestion, but I do think there needs to a kicking rule for certain percent/amount of timeouts. However, I do realize that as a Christian team we are perhaps more forgiving. But if the timeouts continue I will have to leave.

unfourtunately we have had 4 timeouts, and once the policy takes effect then this would have ment automatic removal of the team for that member, as you say I think we are more forgiving but it is definately time for rules and for them to be policed, if I am seen as a bad guy for this then sorry but my wish is for the majority of the team to be happy.Which is to stop timeouts!!
Other members have voiced that they will leave if timeouts continue which who can blame them if the odd one or two are spoiling it for the rest. Up until today every one who has replied to the suggestion has voted for the rule (only one unsure of the probation period), this will come into force on saturday next week if it is a majority (which is more than likely looking at the response so far).
As the new captain the last thing I want is to start removing players but if it hurts the rest of the team then action should be taken and most other teams have similar timeout policies.

My thoughts are those of Glennhorsey.When I was captain I did not feel a timeout rule was needed,they were few and far in between.And I always felt well things happen unexpectedly.But for the way things are going yes I agree there is a need of a policy.I like her idea and the probationary policy.
I truly believe it takes the whole team active to make a team work.Everyone should be an active member.By this I mean the players should take it upon themselves to be checking on each other.One way to do this is going to the team page and clicking on the team ELO score,this will bring all completed games up,except games finished after mid-night gameknot time.This will let you see who is timing out.
Being a captain is a tough job,and there are times they need our input.Please always respond to messages from the captain.Your input is important.

I think I have found some free webspace need to check with spyder whether they are suitable which would be great to get some for free.
Also I was hoping to start maybe seeing some ideas come through for the page, maybe we need to have a statement about the team as a jumping off point to get it under way, any ideas anyone :))

Thank you all who replied. Current URLs I'm looking through include:

-> www.thefreesite.com
and -> www.freespaces.com
I think there are enough choices on these three to find something suitable for the team. However, I would like to look through all the choices carefully, but as I will be swamped for approximately two weeks, it may take me some time.
I would also like to know how important having a blog (for team updates) and/ or having a forum (for general team communication) is to you all to include on our site.

OK everyone the timeout policy is now active, anyone with 2 timeouts within 2 months, will be put on timeout probation for the next 2 months!!!
Hopefully I will never have to use this.
Please remember to set your vacation flags if more time is needed for your games.
