10/10/2006 12:27:34 [ report this post ] | Hello & Thanks
Message: Hi, My name is Eric (aka erp9922). I'm excited to be accepted on the Global Bounty Hunters team. Here's a quick bit about me if you are interested. If not, just skip to the last paragraph.
I am 42, happily married, and father of five children. I have a recent family picture on my profile page. My 4 oldest are boys, and they, like myself, are very involved in all types of sports. I have coached my kids in football, basketball, baseball, and also play tennis, golf, ping pong, raquetball, and just about anything else with them. I've given up X-box, since I can no longer compete with them in that. My only daughter is learning piano & dance, so most of my time is involved with working, or else some activity that my children are involved in, but I do take the time to play some chess. I had a friend in High School that I used to play chess with a little, but I only started playing a lot of chess in early 2005. It's one thing my kids won't play me in (they say because it's boring, but I think that it's because I can beat them), but I was lucky enough to discover Gameknot, so I've played here since then.
I look forward to getting to know you and appreciate the opportunity to be part of an active team. As Patrick said, we played on the Riding Pawn Mowers together and have had some fun games. My chess skills are marginal, so I'm always open to tips and suggestions. For a while I was reading a couple of books and putting some time trying to become a better player, but lately, I've taken the approach of just playing for fun. I hope to improve as I continue to play and associate with other people that enjoy the game.
Thanks again & good luck in your games. Go GBH!!! / Eric

Message: Well, he did it, in spite of everything. It certainly blows apart my theory that there is no such thing as justice. Justice seems to have been done this time. I liked his comment at the interview, before the playoff, when asked if the fact that they were playing on friday 13th, and that the date, 13/10/2006 all add up to 13 might be unlucky for him, and that Kasparov would have enjoyed it. His reply was "Fortunately I am not playing him" :)) very profound.

Message: Since I have been playing on this site, I have followed the fortunes of the top players and often replay their games. Mestrinho, Brunetti, Cairo, Harpov, Mateintwo and Cyrano have all been ranked No 1 since I started. A few have dropped by the wayside, but Harpov is making a fantastic comeback - he is now over 2400 and his games are worth a look. It is also interesting to watch the "new comers" climb their way to the top, and there are a few, including our own Champ who are doing really well - harlekin, anakin66 and Robert1 have recently emerged to the top ten with bullets. Their games are really interesting and worth reviewing - I try and watch Grandphish when he plays the top players plus a few others inc Duchess who I had the misfortune playing twice a year or two back. Great way to learn new skille - I have learnt from G/phish that the King can be quite aggressive and important in an end game for example.

Iteresting evening for your captain. About 4:30 AM, I awoke to the sound of hail, high wind, a shaking house and a loud roar. Morning light disclosed a house about 4 houses away from me with no roof. A tornado had taken the roof off and done minor damage to the area. No damage to my house except my trash cans blew away and are nowhere to be found.

Message: Thought I would assist the Purchasing Manager re supplies for the retreat at Anita's Sydney harbour side joint. Based on 90 guests for one week, and in order to maintain the average Ausse per capita consumption, the calculation for beverage is as follows
90 x 7 x 1 slab per day = 15,120 cans
Next there should be a debate as to whether we should have Tooheys or Fosters -either way I suggest Grandphish better find his litter bins and bring them all.
Prawns on the barbie are of course obligatory!!!!!

Message: Well duh, Tooheys...and I don't even drink beer... but I just know these things. But I suppose out of the 15 120 cans, we can perhaps designate maybe 10 to those who prefer Fosters...maybe...
Hmm, 15120, is that really enough? Also who will be the responsible deignated driver...
For those non beer drinkers I will make up summery cocktails..purely mixed on how pretty the colours are. LOL Mwahahahaha
Maybe I should also mention I live in a 2br unit... everyone will have to take turns to breathe. Cosy! :) Oh and both hands will always need to be seen at ALL times boyzzz!

Message: MasterCard is a credit card, which many Americans use instead of money that they don't have, so they get deeper and deeper in debt and declare bankruptcy.
It's a great American institution which can be the downfall if used improperly, created by banks who charge exhorbitant interest rates.

Message: The really nice thing about these credit cards, is that they actually expand your credit limit to match the more and more money you don't have. All you have to do is get a balance on them, then the banks will quickly give you a higher credit limit, so that you can continue to splurge without running out of money you don't have:)
Therefore, after we buy the supplies for the party in Austraaaaalya, we should soon get enough credit for the airline tickets as well. I do like the idea of an Australian get together though;)
