Subject: "Neverless" Team Discussion #1
Message: Welcome to the forums! Let the chatter begin!
As your newest member I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a trade school instructor for the medical arts. I retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman. I have traveled all around the world while in the service and have played at several national/city clubs. Have won a few tourneys, mostly at military bases. Consider myself a student of the openings and tactics is my strength.
Available to all team members for help in improving your game. I may not play too many team games as I'm not a paying member, but hope to help in other ways.
Will cough up the dough if it becomes a need though.
So lets hear about your lifes and chess !!!!

Message: I forgot that you mentioned being a corpsman, my brother was a Marine.
I have worked alot of different jobs, mostly construction, factory machine, and tattooing. Currently I am a full time student studying for my bachelors in chemical engineering.
I first started playing chess when I was fourteen, played on and off again for a few years. A few years back now I was in an accident and started playing chess more often. Started out here as a member of the chess samurais, which didn't work so we (brettsegler, Anton, and myself) decided to start another team. It hasn't been easy and sometimes I slack as a captain, but it has been fun for me and I hope that everyone else is enjoying themselves as well.

Message: Hello team,
I am a PhD student in Metallurgy, we model alloy solidification, steels, bronzes, etc. I studied applied maths at home, in Russia. Now i live in Leoben, Austria.
I started to play chess when I was about the same age as Collin, about 14 y/o. Of course, i knew the rules of the game before, but more or less seriously only when i was 14. When I was studying for my masters i didnt play very regularly. After doing my masters, i went to Heidelberg, Germany, where I met Christian (brettsegler) and we started to play chess with him rather regularly. Then I had to move to Austria, so brettsegler introduced me to GK, so i've been playing here since march-2005 as far as i remember.
At first i didnt want to join any team since it is a lot of responsibility! But then Christian suggested me to join the rest of Chess Samurais so i did. It was fun, we were full of enthusiasm and plans. I mean three of us (brettsegler, carbon and myself).. But as i said, not many people would like to invest into improvement of their chess. Btw teams web-page was created by me :).
I also have to admit that i commited a couple of timeouts in team games.. Hopefully from now nobody will do such a stupid thing.

Message: umm I dont know... why is this such a big deal? I mean chess is in theory a very quiet game... people don't have to have a knowledge of communication to play the game... but hey im just sayin... so dont be hatin...
