 Subject: Team forums?
Message:
I was thinking maybe when your start a team you can have team forums on the GK site which only members of that team can enter and do whatever action in that forum, it will help communicate to a lot of people on your team etc. What do you guys think?

The team of which I am a member actually has this facility, but only because one of our members went to extraordinary trouble and personal expense to set up a team site for us to do all such things, and I can tell you it is strongly supported and enjoyed by the majority of the team. But the amount of work and dedication required to continue this kind of service would be daunting to the average person, and I doubt that most teams would have such a strongly motivated and determined member capable of supplying such a gift to his or her team members.

The technology already exists - most likely tying the Club Forums module to the Teams interface and hiding that club forum from anyone outside the team would do the trick. Perhaps GK is concerned with high server load? After all, there are 300 teams here, and counting!
Would anyone be willing to pay a fee for creating their Team forum, same as with Clubs? Otherwise you end up with paying your hosting provider for the website. But even if your non-GK forum is free, it's sort of a drag to log on here, log on there, etc.

I think many captains would be pleased to pay the same amount needed for starting a club to have their own team forum in GK (Given it is private otherwise it is already available).

I just thought about that, a club could be set up in conjunction with the team set up. It would be great if clubs have the option of making the posts and topics public or private if team play gets serious then that will become good.
