 GK HOME PAGE : WORLD CHESS NEWS ! How to read the whole articles.Is it not possible ? Or is there a glitch ? Every title in the "News page" is URL'able (underline, highlight ) but when I click it it dsiplays the home page again. Am I missing something ? |

I am not an HTML designer/coder but I wonder .... The page source for THAT home page has this instruction for each NEWS title ... onMouseOver="this.href='/news.pl?id=17862';" target="_blank"> 2 - Johan Petersson, an "expert" AFAI can read makes the following case : *** The folly of target="_blank" *** " Some web designers think their sites are so important that any external link must be opened in a new browser window and will use a variety of tricks to force these popups to happen. THE END - THANKS to Johan Petersson The articles are opened correctly in FireFox after a very short delay while displaying msg : "Opening external page ...."; Since I use OPERA for GK and almost only for GK and since I imminently shall upgrade my Ubuntu to 11.10 OO ( thus new V.r of FFx & Op) I will not bother to solve the problem now. If any web designer/developer reads this (GK's own or player), the article cited in my previous post is worth reading. Thanks Z666N for your feedback. |
