Time limit on moves.
Do some members have special privileges?

I have been playing 'hazzen' . The game has a 3 day move rule. He has not been on-line for 5 days. Why has the game not been forfeited? There has been no postponement.

What I think may have happened is:
He made his last move shortly before the time on Saturday (around 5 PM PT USA) where
GameKnot adds 1 day to each players clock. In addition, GameKnot sent out a message to all
players about what they described as a large-scale DDoS attack against the datacenter that
hosts their servers. In response to this they added another day to all games that were not
already postponed. These two days may account for the additional time your opponent has
been allowed to make his current move. With that said, it looks like he is close to timing out and
he has already timed out in 24% of his games to date. In any event, hang in there. I think you'll
win this one.

I know its frustrating when you feel you have a player beaten and they just drag the game out.
This is a topic that has been debated here many, many times. The general consensus is: Since
your opponent is entitled to use all of the time on his clock, just be patient and crush your
opponent on the board.

More info...
This is what I can deduce:

It looks like your opponent made his last move around 12:30 PM GameKnot time on Friday, Sept
30th. This is based on the fact that he has about three hours remaining on this clock plus the
following details. Sometime on Saturday, Oct 1st in the late afternoon GameKnot would have
added their usual 24 hours to everyone's clock. At that time, he would have had roughly one
day plus 19 or 20 hours remaining on his clock plus the extra 24 hours. Then they added an
additional 24 hours extra time for the internet issues that I noted in my previous response.
Unless he moves between now and approximately 12:30 PM GameKnot time he will time out.

The end is near.

Time Limits.
Thanks for your replies, cyberknight.

What I find particularly annoying with this game is that I have, in reality, won it.

If you look at the game you will see that he has no choice in his next move, it will then be #.

Thanks again for the info, we must have a game sometime!

It appears your opponent has had some sort of difficulty. His last 10 games finished now have all timed-out. Even some where he was ahead in material or had some obvious move to make. Before that, all his losses from page one of his History, that I actually got to take a look at tonight, were Resigned by him. Hopefully he is well and able to resume his access sometime soon.
