Mobile version of GameKnot (beta)

...is available here: m.gameknot.com
It's a beta version (i.e. work in progress), so not everything might work correctly, but it should be more or less functional as far as playing chess is concerned. Give it a try on your favorite mobile device and let us know if it's a step in the right direction?

Thanks GK. On my Ipad, I didn't see a way to get back to the game from the analysis board. Am I overlooking a
button?

I think the analysis board still loads in a pop-up, so just close the window and it will return to the game board (I think). It might be useful to make an even clearer distinction between game board/analysis board in the mobile version of the site.

There is no obvious way to close the window. This may be due to my lack of knowledge about the iPad. It is
newly acquired. Operator error is always a possibility.

But seriously, this is a great advancement for GameKnot. As if my membership wasn't worth the
money I paid already. This just shows that Mike and his team do listen to the users. How many
websites can claim this. I bet not too many. I've even used the mobile site from my PC to try it
out. It loads fast.

My only request right now is to have the skip game and next game links added. Knowing these
guys, this is probably already in the works.

I must give this a try !

Just to see if this is something my Moto-Slow phone "Old-Faithful" can use !?(or not)

3 or 4 minutes per Net page, and not "Smart" ... but we've been thru a lot together, and its been durable enough, in case we ever forget the Hockey puck. Then I guess Moto would become pretty fast. On the ice.

Will see if I need to take a travel-set along to analyze on ?!

Nice. A couple of suggestions.

I really like the mobile version, appreciate it. I'd like to make two suggestions. First, please move "Log out" somewhere it's not so easily accidentally clicked by those of us with fat fingers - bottom of the page instead of right next to "My Games". In general, I would never use this option and its a pain when I accidentally click it. Second, I'd really like a "Skip Game" button like on the non-mobile version.

can't log in

I used the mobile version for months, then suddenly it wouldn't let me log in. I am unable to log in through the website or the mobile version on my iphone. Any suggestions on what I can adjust? The date and time are accurate on the phone.

Melb go to settings and check your Safari settings. Make sure accept cookies from visited is on. I think that is
the problem.

Can't Log in

Using a Motorola Razr (latest version) on Android and can't log in to gameknot. Used to be able to on my old DEXT.

Have checked the browser settings and it says that it accepts cookies. Have cleared the cache and cookies and tried again to see if that would fix the problem.

Any other ideas?

Love the mobile version, thanks. I do have a question/problem

I have a Sony Ericsson Experia. On the mobile version the chat tab doesn't have a scroll, so if the message is over 8 lines long i have to wait till I am at a PC, which can be 2-3 days, to read the entire message. Any ideas? Thanks.

graphic issues

Love the application on my phone and it works well on my Samsung tablet. On the tablet version the graphics are always messed up on the analyze the board and the review old games boards. Anyone else experience this?

@dieselengine9: Yes, I also see graphics issues with the pieces on my Samsung tablet (I don't
know about "always"). I believe I seem them with the regular (non-mobile) web version on my
tablet as well.

Games getting close to timeout.

I think there's an issue with how games that are close to time out are displayed in the games list on the mobile version. When I first logged in this morning I my games with the least time were 9 hours on the mobile. After making some moves on other games all of a sudden I get two messages saying that two games had timed out.

My guess is that the mobile version is either not displaying games with less than 30 minutes to go or is sorting them by the number and not the unit. So 5 minutes to go would mean it would be between 4 hours and 6 hours to go.

Can anyone else confirm or is it a phone issue.
