Postponement Rule Question
One of my opponents has postponed our game three times, back-to-back, for five days each. As soon as his time was almost up he would get another five days added to his clock.

I was under the impression that when one postponement expired, the player couldn't immediately get another.

Am I misreading the rules, or was his original postponement for more than five days (say twenty or thirty) and GK just hands it out in five day increments?

Thanks,
The Dragon

Re-postponements are explained pretty well here...
gameknot.com

But if this helps: The wait is equal to the number of days you postpone for. So if you postpone on Jan 1 for 5 days. Then you're playing again on Jan 6, and can postpone again on Jan 11. The only limit is the maximum wait is 14 days. So you could postpone for 20 days, return on the 21 day and then wait only 14 more to postpone again.

The only way that's possible
Is if the opponent postponed for 5 days, then an automatic emergency postponement gameknot.com was triggered (they can be triggered back-to-back next to manual postponements.) The emergency postponement ends after 5 days, by which time they would be allowed to make another postponement (because it's been 5 days since they made their first 5 day postponement.) I hope that's not too confusing...

It is also quite possible that only one move is made in between some postponements.

Soooo ...
... how long does this normally go on? I offered a draw about 12 or 13 days ago so it doesn't reallly hurt me to wait. Just curious.
