premium and non-premium sharing a computer
i have a problem that looks serious and unfair to me. I have a premium account (this one) and i want my son to have a non-premium account. I understand that multiple accounts from the same computer are blocked. First i thought that this applies only to non-premium accounts, but now i see that the non-premium account is blocked even if it shares a computer with a premium account! This does not look fair to me.

The other issue is that i have no way to fix this problem without closing the premium account. (Or have i?). I have three computers at home, and suppose I already logged in with my premium account from all computers. Now i cannot use another non premium account from any of my computers! Right? Knowing all that in advance i would use the premium account from one computer and the non-premium from another, but now the only option is to close the premium account, Isnt it? This is a paradox. If i had no premium account i would be in a better situation ...

My last question is about logging-in from behind a home router. Are all accounts seen as using the same computer?

To summarize:
1) please help me to remove the restriction without having to close my premium account
2) please consider again your policy of blocking a non premium account that is sharing a computer with a premium account

Best Regards
Alon

When you subscribe to a premium membership, naturally it only affects your own account, and nobody else's. If you wish for your son to have access to all the premium features and benefits under his own account (including being able to share a computer with other users), you would need to buy a premium membership for him as well. Simple as that: gameknot.com

There is a very long list of reasons why we disallowed multiple users sharing the same computer for free memberships (a long time ago). And unfortunately we cannot make an exception. Because if we start making exceptions to any of our policies, it would be unfair to only do it for some people, but not others, so we would have to start making an exception for everyone, which means there would be no point in having any rules or policies at all.

Please simply subscribe your son to a premium membership, and he'll be able to share his computer with anyone anywhere, and have access to all the premium benefits and advanced features as well. It's only about $3.33/month (Gold membership paid annually), which is hardly an unreasonable amount to pay for your child to enjoy playing chess with you.
