How does one cite information from another chess website?
What is the GK protocol for citing information gleaned from another chess website?

We are fine with it, as long as it's not done for promotional purposes. I.e. it's fine if you post some interesting information you found someplace else and then reference where you found it, but not if you just post a link.

Oh, and as always, please refer to the "Rules and Policies" link located at the bottom of all GameKnot pages for the detailed description of what's unacceptable on GameKnot. Thank you for your understanding and anticipated cooperation.

of course
I understand it is sensitive terrain, but that's simply the place where it comes from, right? As indicated in your post here, and which is the information I received before upon inquiring about it privately, it should be allowed if done with sincerity.

It wouldn't have been deleted if it had the link to the specific source (that you have provided) and if it was a single post. The other posts have been deleted as they had nothing to do with the tactical exercises or that particular exercise (i.e. off-topic). As always, if you have any questions or comments about forum moderation (i.e. deleted posts, etc.), please contact GameKnot customer support directly instead of posting in the unrelated forum. Thank you.

It's never a good idea to post about moderator actions (deleted posts, etc.) in any forum. It just creates too much confusion and unnecessary misunderstandings most of the time. This would be a good example as well — it's probably a safe bet that other than you and GameKnot staff, nobody else has any idea what this was all about, since the key posts have been deleted. If you contacted us directly, it would have produced the same result (i.e. your questions answered), but it would've avoided a lot of head scratching from the rest of people reading this...
