Few Ladder improvements...
First of all, let me just point out that ladder games are really what this site should be all about.

"Solo" ladder:

The "solo" ladder as of now is not bad, but there is some room to few improvements. In my opinion it provides a better rating system that that of league games (you have a rank, rather then just the league name (A1 for example)).

1.) The existence of Fast and Slow ladder is not necessary. One would be far better. The move times should either be as that of a Fast ladder now, or somewhere in the middle of the two. In joining they should be mixed. First from Fast then from Slow (or other way, no matter), second from Fast ..., etc.

2.) Right now a player can only challenge someone +-10% of the ladder size. This should not be constant, but rather linear by ladder rank. One way to do it would be the following: first 100 ranks should be +-10, first 200 +-20 etc. This way it would be much easier to progress from the back once joining, and much more fair in the top 100.

Team ladder:

On a side note, the Team Ladder should either be removed or altered to reflect the "solo" ladder rules. At this moment the team ladder doesn't reflect the real strength of a team as each team can just reject a request for a match, and of course will do so if the difference in proposed player's ranks is too big. As such a team that is 1st could be considered, I don't know, lucky I guess.   I understand this is much harder to accomplish, but it can be done. The team should not be able to reject the request if they don't have too many matches going on. Also the proposed players should not be decided by team leaders, but rather it should be done automatically. This selection of players should not be random, but more fair (this could be accomplished by keeping track of how many team ladder games a player is playing, much like now). Also maybe each player in a team should be given an ability to be active member or passive. Only active ones should be considered as participants in a team ladder game. This way it would make a lot more sense. I understand that this is a little more complicated model and not as easy to program, but I think it is worthwhile.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this and also that community will take part in discussion.

P.S. There really should be a link to these forums on the left menu (and not in more options like now...).

I think I disagree with your proposals, except for your PS => gameknot.com

One example for solo, 2.)
A player rank 2 would be able to advance to rank 1 by simply winning someone in 130 first ranks (10% of 1300). I think that number is too big and should be something closer to 10.
