Maybe its coming in the future, but 2 things I would like to see is...1.An option to change the graphic "colors" of the board and possibly the pieces as well, beyond the drab grey that it is.I find light blue or green better and some sites do offer a host of color options.Even a wood simulation board option would be nice. 2.In addition,I think the piece's below the board as they are captured and the capture value format should be changed somehow. If I'm looking over my boards or searching through other players games,I do not immediately know who has the +2 advantage, for example.I feel that the + sign should be located immediately to the left of either white or black, not "centered"as it is right now "between" both captured pieces of both sides. If not this way, then some other way.

Have you tried out the four different board graphics that are offered in the "settings" tab? I "hope" GameKnot will release new and more board graphics this year, perhaps, we will see. For now the fourth board design is still pretty neat.

9 - The mini-diagrams (shown when hovering the mouse over the board icon) are slightly bigger which makes them somewhat clearer to the eyes. Also a minor change is that the board flipping is done differently; w - - shows from White's perspective where you needed to include b - - at the end before. rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR w KQkq -

yes,I tried all of the different board graphics offered in the setting tab, they are all ok.but a true custom color variation change is alot better and make it even more enjoyable and comfortable for the individual player, especially if looking at dozens of game boards and designing a custom one easier on the eyes.

help
In the menu bar it now says "HELP?" instead of "HELP"
10 - addendum to 9; in your settings it is now possible to choose how the chess diagrams (preview boards/diagrams in the forums/private messages/annotated games) look. Size: Tiny/Small/Medium/Intermediate/Large/Very Large Style: GameKnot/3D/Merida/Modern/Alpha Very neat!!
You can also click the diagram to play around with it.

At some point, they added links within the game pop-ups for mini-tournaments and leagues. Good addition, worth mention.

Did you turn move confirmation off? CK

I haven't got any moves to make, so it's tough to tell for sure. But yeah, mine is missing too and I haven't turned off move confirmation...

The move confirmation/submit button disappears after you have made your move. Tag1153, I would check your settings as you may have accidentaly unchecked the relevant box.

TAG ... Me Too! So that must be it...
Yes, I see it(?!?!) and it is definitely Not There. But of course I have one game, and it is not my move> this matters, yes? OK, its definitely is a problem of exogenous substance. Or just insanity. (Been playing any WC's lately?) But there could be many explanations. Still vacationing on 3 Mile Island? Have you eaten any chicken from under the lights? How about peanuts? Been eating peanuts on Three Mile Island while playing in a WCC, and this is only happening when you go to the break room computer, right? and you are playing somone from that place that starts with "B", yeah? (If so, don't sweat it, I hear its worse for some players

11 - On the "analyze board", new "Options..." to customize board size/style and moves list.
new
there's something else new, which I believe just changed a minute or so ago. the main chess game board is like an analyze board. if you click on a piece, you can see the possible spots it can move to. you can go back and check previous moves with arrows like in the analyze board.
It really caught me out, I went to make a move, and for a second thought I was on the analysis board. I like it, it's easier now to quickly remind yourself what the last few moves were.
Personally I don't like that the static game board, waiting for a move of mine, is moving around the pieces for me. But OK we'll get used to it.
It is now clear if a game is unrated when reviewing it. Also, GameKnot's chess puzzle section has exceeded puzzle number #10,000.
If there is a note left for you in a game, it will show up in the "status" column in your gamelist as a text bubble. Apologies if this has already been mentioned. Nice feature though.

NnH
Sounds like a good addition.
Rereading my post...
...makes it sound like it was a suggestion -- in fact, it is a new feature that has been implemented. Others have seen this, yes?
It looks like a good addition.

guest*1129 I wondered what kind of account such a non-member would have to use. Probably even less functionality than a restricted account!! But at least they can submit the moves!! Perhaps it will lead such guests to register for a normal account anyway.

I noticed that now we can declare draw by 3-fold repetition and by "50 moves without capture". The latter had been a thorn in the side for a few players, as I recall.
...50 moves without any pawn move nor any capture.

I didn't realize the rule includes pawn moves. Goes to show how many times I declare that rule, I suppose.
