Nov. 12 daily chess puzzle contestThe November 12 daily chess puzzle contest only has a mate-in-2 solution if the black king can't castle. If the black king can castle, then it takes several moves to force mate. Solving the puzzle in 2 moves requires knowing whether or not the king may castle. I see what you mean by saying that the position is legal, then black could not castle. I just spotted your message on a related thread. *sheepish grin* Obviously, I had not deduced that castling was not an option when I worked out the solution. Rich |
