On game annotations....
I just find it a little annoying that you can't save them privately before making them public...
well, you can but the annotations end up ten games down, where people might not even see
them!

It's just a lot easier (to me) when you can do part of the annotation, then come back to it on
another day, completing it, looking through to see if you missed anything, analysing a particular
point in the game, etc etc....

yes
Very true. Of course you can put it in Game Notes. But it gets cumbersome. So I tend to save to Annotations as I go and therefore always experience what you are saying also, about the annotation being aged when finally completed.
Too bad the dating of it is not tied to the "public" save rather than just the "save".

Copy
Can't you just copy everything to a new annotated game, make that one public and then delete the old one? Of course it is extra work and baronderkilt's suggestion would be a better solution, but it is not THAT hard to do...

I guess...
But it's still a pain in the neck to do, especially if it's a long annotation....

Still, it's worth a try - thanks!

Copy PGN
But if you use the export PGN and import PGN option it does not matter how long the annotation is, they are the same amount of work to transfer...

ah, brilliant!
I never knew you can do that! Thanks a bunch, that really helps!

(so really, I have nothing to complain about anymore...lol)

There are so many annotations these days...
... that they rapidly get buried in the ruck.

What I quite like to do, if someones annotations impress me, is to look up their profiles, to access the rest of their annotated games. Saves trawling though several zillion pages of stuff.

I think, too, that annotators ought probably to be prepared after some time to delete their old games. I believe one can just delete them outright.

But another idea occurs to me. I want to keep them under my own profile, but remove them from the public file. I can I suppose 'de-publish' them, but then they will not be accessible to visitors to my profile. Something for the moderator to consider, maybe?

Save, uncheck "make this annotated game public", submit.

Taking algol's advice...
and I came up with this annotation. It's taken me longer, but I'll call this my best annotation I've
ever done (well, the most informative, at least)
