Swiss
Being new here this may be a naive question. Are there any Swiss tournaments run on gk? Thanks.

Seriously tho, the thing about Swiss is that you must play every round before pairing the next and this can take considerable time when speaking of correspondence Chess like "turn-based".
Right now the large GK Tournaments are run in sections, with section winners advancing to make new sections, etc.
There has been some talk of trying to run a giant Knock-out style tournament ... which would be the pairing structure of a Swiss, except that losers would be eliminated rather than paired back into a lower point group. This has not happened yet.

The "Blitz" area has been recently upgraded and is still in improvement stage. It may be that we will someday see a Swiss style event there as Blitz, or Online Otb. But as yet, there are no tourneys run from the Blitz section. Indeed it still needs the Rating function added, and other things. But we are hoping great things there eventually. I say "We" meaning GK players. (I am not a GK worker nor moderator, etc. Just happened across your Question, and thought to add my bit in reply.)

Swiss
There have been a few small ones run "manually" by for example tag1153, but it involves a lot of private challenges and an attentive TD. "Officially", Swiss tournaments aren't supported (yet).

Swiss
A swiss with a one day per move rule would have a round finished in an average of maybe 80 days. That's not so bad. It sure beats postal chess. I've got one of those going into it's third year...........

You also have to take into account...
A few 30-day postponements per round

Swiss
I'll think about starting a swiss of 5 rounds. One day per move, with an automatic draw after 50 moves. I can handle up to 20 players with no problem. That should finish in under two years. Thoughts on how best to spread the word?
