GK Members vs GK Staff or GK Analyze Computer
Everywhere on the Website i see teams vs teams clubs vs 1 player clubs vs clubs So why not bring the players closer to the staff members and play a game.. the GK members vs the Staff or if people like it GK Members vs GK Computer I think we get a very fine game going if we do so.. So what do you think ?

Sounds like a good idea Freddy, but it is my understanding that somewhere in the forums(or elsewhere) I read that the GK staff that also plays chess on GK prefers to remain reticent(secret)to whom they all are.I'm sure there are alot of reasons for this. So,I doubt that play between GK staff members vs other GK members will ever occur...atleast not with any open acknowledgement that they "are"staff members.

That is no problem
because GK always replies with the same account called gameknot_com so we never know who is in the staff. And the board well we can point out 2 players that make the moves in a unrated game.. ( but perhaps GK has some nice feature for it ) PS:have you made it to the top 10 in the top 100 veteran list already ?

Oh,I forgot.... and as to GK members vs a GK computer, that would be atleast a more probable event to occur, since open direct computer vs opponent(or team) games DO exist on atleast one other chess site that I am aware of.But some opponents to this issue do say that it "might" promote other computer usage outside those game parameters,so it is a controversial subject indeed. Again, however,i'm not against any of your ideas...they are fine with me!

oh...I see freddy...well then,if games can occur without revealing the GK staffs handle name...,then great!(I wasen't aware of this,or I forgot). As to the top 10....no,but close! 16th place. The draws on my level have brought me down a few points.Perhaps by the end of the year i'll be atleast 10th place...hopefully!

ah..
about the > it "might" promote other computer usage outside those game parameters < I am not afraid of that. because we use a voting system. 20 players vote for move 17 . Nf3 second best move with the best arguments 7 vote for for move 17. Bg3 best move according to chess computer and 2 vote for move 17. Qh2 Alternative line if 2 or 3 of those use a computer then they usually get overruled by the human factor anyway so it is actually a waste of time to use one.. and most important of all the game is not really about winning it is more a sort of team building. ( is The GK staff up for this that is the question)

Yes,I see freddy. But what I meant was it sometimes promotes computer usage outside of that game, beyond the game your speaking of,where there is no arguments or voting system....in other private games. This is what I was referring to. But again,it is fine with me,my "vote"is still yes,in both cases.

If Gk staff don't want to reveal their identity, then GK could just create accounts "GK board 1", "GK board 2" etc and have them play unrated games against GK members. Those GK accounts could be used interchangeably in the future.

Well, this is freddy's string, but as he said,I believe that they can just respond under the GK.com as freddy mentioned above. If my memory serves me correctly(and its been bad lately!)...I remembered reading from either Mike or some other GK staff member that most of the staff also enjoys playing GK chess, but their own personal ratings were not on the very high plateau levels(for lack of the exact words,I can't remember). So if Freddy and I played against the GK staff,well.....hmmmmm.I'll gracefully bow out, thank you!I might do something slightly wrong one day,and I could just see one of the GK staff guys saying...yes,I remember that TA guy,and drop the hammer! Ha ha!Paranoia and superstition on my part yes,but you guys have the fun...i'll watch from a distance!

Most consultation games ...
seem to end up with one person providing the accepted moves, having the confidence of most players, then the game goes bad and that person leaves! lol. Call it optimism rather than confidence, because I dont know for sure why I believe this, but I dont think we would have that problem on GK. Perhaps because there are so many good players, it seems to me a lot of wonderful ideas would come out. And GK players being more commited in general. Also that we might actually discuss things like "a coheartent PLAN" lol. Factors like lever pawns and abundance of regional attacking material. = sac potential. etc *** Anyway, just to say it sounds like a very fun idea.

or if it is not consultation-like
and just someone putting the moves to vote for (and who decides? I nominate Freddy as originator + strong player) I volunteer to provide some of the moves, shots, or plans secondary to the obvious one .... that are really very weird looking but just Might work. Since these are the first thing I see anyway. LOL *** Or if it is a board by board line-up with no interference, like a regular team vs team affair. Then I would will enjoy being in the kibber thread quite much. Surely there must be one, yes? And we Can see the games progress. And no peaking .... on your honors. I'd trust that here.
