Moble App

Hey,

I was wondering if GK was looking at making an app for my smart phone?

Access this site through my phone doesn't seem to work very well so an app would be great.

Just try using an alternative page style. I heard one of them works better for handheld devices.

You can change the Site style from your Settings -menu.

I believe ...

that recently GK made a posting saying it was felt the future of Net play continues to be in browser accessed functions rather than specific phone apps ... and they were not going there. I won't swear to it since there is no longer a "search" function for the forums here, so I cannot actually look and see or link you to that. Perhaps you can find that thread or someone might be able to confirm the info. It might even be a FAQ by now?!

from the faq:

Q47: Can I use my PDA or a mobile phone to play on GameKnot?
A: We do not specifically support any particular PDAs or smartphones, but if your handheld
device provides full support for HTML 4.01 and JavaScript 1.5, you should have no problems using
GameKnot on it. If you are having any issues making a move on the chess board, please try
enabling the "legacy chess board" option in your account's settings.
