Problem to understand a certain tactic

I wonder why tactic

tactics #8402 has the following solution:
1. ... g6
2. Nf6+ Qxf6
3. Qxf6

Why does black play Qxf6? Does moving the king lead to a far worse position? I tried to find out but I'm somehow failing to understand. Any help please? Thanks

I checked it out..

1. ... g6
2. Nf6+ Kh8 leads to a mate in 5
3.Nh5+ Re5
4.Qxe5+ f6
5.Qe8+ Kh7
6.Qxg6+ Kh8
7.Qxh6#

1. ... g6
2. Nf6+ Kf8 leads to a queen capture or worse
3 .Qd8+ Kg7
4.Ne8+ Kf8
5.Nc7+ Kg7
6.Nxa6 Bxa6

so the move played by GK analyses computer was the the best of 3 evils
