Highest rating won against:
In the stats of a player is included : Highest rating won against.

Let's suppose I won a game against player X with a rating of 1500 at the time.
After the game has ended the rating of X in my stats is still moving up and down.
If X improves his rating to let's say 2500, this rating will be shown in my stats giving the
false impression I beat a player with a rating of 2500.

Conclusion: the rating of X in the relevant stats of his opponent should be maintained as it
was at the beginning of the game.

janarie ...
But IS it a false impression!? Not necessarily. Pehaps the opponent you defeated happened to be a 2500 player who is only at 1500 because he is provisional and his rating has not caught up with his strength yet. Beating 1200 players gets a new player only to 1600 no matter how strong someone may truly be. This is actually a more likely scenario than one in which a "C" player suddenly "Just got Good" (to quote Fischer   ) to the extent of 2500. lol

So Congratulations~! }8-D

It will not show 2500 in your profile but 1500

That's it then ...
I will never play future SCM's rated under 1600 again ~! In fact, I am also giving up my entire program to Search, Find & Profile all GK 9 year olds of GM potential !

hmm...
If one were interested enough and willing to dig a little, one could glean my opinion on this subject. No disrespect intended to anyone - we all blunder.

... and some people time out.
From memory, for a long time my 'highest rated player won against' was due to a time out in a Queen and pawn endgame in which I was fighting for the draw a pawn down.

That was quite an interesting endgame, actually (unfortunately the score is not available on GK for some reason). Beginning with a pawn down and a passive position, I came up with the idea of sacrificing my Q-side to activate my game. After a while I noticed my opponent was getting shorter and shorter of time (a fairly quick) Fischer time control something like 3+1 or 3+2. At the point he timed out I was beginning to think I might just about be able save what was quite a complicated ending, considering there were just 7 men on the board.
