Faster time controls
I have 12 games going and it seems most players wait to the last minute to move. Faster time controls would bring more players to GK and they would stay longer since they would have to move sooner. They can't just accept a challenge make a move or two, then disappear for 2-3 days. It's a waste of a challenge.

Also, consider subscribing to a premium membership so that you can play more games at the same time: gameknot.com
This way, slower-moving players won't be bothering you as much...
