Rating Roundingjust drawn a game where the rating change for me was -0.4, yet I lost a point and my opponent gained one. Looking back, I had another drawn game where the rating change was +0.4 for me, -0.4 for my opponent, yet neither of our ratings changed, as would seem correct. Looking further, I also lost a point (and my opponent gained one) with a -0.3 rating difference. In another game, 7.3 was rounded up to 8 for me yet my opponent lost 7 points. Obviously, what is gained on the swings is lost on the roundabouts, but I find it curious that the standard practice of rounding 0.5 and below, down, and 0.6 and greater, up, is not adhered to uniformly. There are other examples I could quote, but while the rounding seems arbitrary, perhaps there is another reason for it that I'm missing? |

your rating (e.g 1611.4) The rating just adds and subtracts to that, I think |
