I'm a player of the old guard. However, I must say that I read the 3th edition of this book as well as other books by Jeremy Silman. They are masterpieces of chess wisdom, clarity and humor! This book is not the exception, I'm sure.

Don't get me wrong that is a good book and all, but book of the year? I gotta wonder what the criteria was for choosing...
