I got a Chess THING today ...
Several in fact. They gave me FREE ("its FREE, it must be good!" , quoth the possibly deranged or at least naive, little old lady on TV) , yeah free overnight Fed Ex which came on the third day. But third day service was $4.95, so I saved anyway. USCF is having a free delivery promo, you see.

So I got a new Blue roll-up board. Also ordered and got the $79 Rosewood Set I always wanted. With Ebony Black. But the set that came with the Set/board deal is COOL too. A very nice design and Triple Weighted. ! (yes yes i know, dangerous to ones head, but I got for blitzing not tournaments. I will use the Wood for woodpushing tournaments, if I ever find/get-to another one.

And a Saitek Clock! Hey clock prices are way down from what they used to be. Those that used to be $100-ish are now mostly under 60, or lower.

That "starter" set and board & pouch deal for $12.95 is FANTASTIC because it is triple weighted set that is as nice as their $30+ sets (such as the Ultimate I got for $32 years back. This set is as nice or better. )

IT IS a SUPERB DEAL for anyone who wants to stock up a club on sets and boards. IMO This is the deal you want! Real high quality. And heavy enough to knock me out, the next time someone does resign their King onto my Head . . . LOL

Oh yes ...
Also did a 3 year renewal of my USCF. That should do me. So if anyone is running tournaments around Omaha, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, be sure to put me on your e-mail list aor mailing list. I may start playing again, if things continue in the recent vein.

I'm a USCF old timer with a membership number reflecting it: 10306434 .... is your older? A smaller number? It would be 1972 or earlier that you joined. I run into a few locally that are. From guys I grew up playing tournaments with.

I'm TRYING ~!
All I need now is a Tournament ... So I'm working on a Time Machine, to escape the Monsterous Black Hole of Chess Activity, aka Omaha, by going back to 1972. I have great optimism in this. They never did find the microwave emitter in Bobby's chair; that showed up on x-ray but then just sort of dissappeared. heheh.
