"Does that mean White has a substantial advantage? I think not. I've always had an uneasy feeling that Andrew Martin was overstating the case. Rather, I reckon White's position is the easier to play on account of the better flexibility of his pieces, and the relative solidity of his pawn formation. Being "easier to play" means in effect that it is easier to avoid mistakes (tactical and strategic). But if Black can maintain his accuracy, he might well survive."

I cannot disagree with that! That is imo the point. In one of my game where I know that my opponent plays the Ruy Lopez, I set up a conditional move to follow this line but then I deleted the setup. I don't care about losing or winning, but it is hard for me to play a position where I can not do nothing but practicing to maintain accurate defense.

I have an unrated game setup where I play WT and algol play BL. I will post my analysis of this position in a thread I will create shortly. This documentation will become my future reference to play WT pieces against it. The tittle will be "Riga Variation: One Forcing Line"
