afford the latest. Fritz plays better chess than Chess Master, but that's probably not important at our level. Chess Master is certainly more user-friendly, it has good tutorials, and you can set it to a wide variety of playing strengths. It's not compatible with Mac computers, however, no matter what it says on the box. * Chess Tactics Art (CT-ART 3.0) is a great software package for learning tactics. * Look for Chess Tactics Server on the Internet. I don't know if it requires Java or not, but it sure is a great learning tool. You can spend as long or as little time as you want using it, so it's perfect for your schedule, and it's free. |
