Interesting Transposition
I was playing White in a French Tarrasch, and very unhappy about my 7th move when my opponent later gave the tempo back. I ran the position through a data base and was surprised at the number of hits I got. Apparently we had transposed into a fairly common variation of the c3-Sicilian (deferred).

1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nd2 c5 4. Ngf3 Nc6 5. exd5 exd5 6. Bb5 Bd7?! (better is Bg4) 7. dxc5?! (Gives up a tempo, White should wait until Black moves f8 bishop before making this capture) Bxc5 8.
O-O Nge7 9. Nb3 Bb6 10. c3 O-O 11. Re1 Bg4 (gives back the tempo)

And we now have a well known position from the c3 Sicilian (deferred).

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 e6 3. c3 d5 4. exd5 exd5 5. d4
Nc6 6. Bb5 Bd6 7. dxc5 Bxc5 8. O-O Nge7 9. Nbd2
Bb6 10. Nb3 Bg4
