A tie?
In a tournament, when a tie is involved, what would give a player a win in a round ? Right now Im tied with a player with 4 wins, and he has a game yet to finish, but it says regardless of the outcome of the last game, he will be the one to advance. I was thinking maybe rating would be the tie breaker, but I have a higher rating. He and I also split our games 1/1

Ok, He has the top score now, but my question is, There was a caption under the score box that said "regardless of results of remaining games, he advances" and at the time, my rating was higher and he and I had the same score. So my question is, why is he getting the round win before its over AND we had the same score?

You had completed all six games and had a score of four. He had completed five games and had a score of four. If he drew or won, he'd have a score of 4.5 or 5, and would advance alone. If he lost, he'd have a score of four and both of you would have advanced. So he was guaranteed advancement even if he lost the game. So gameknot made a note of that. You had to wait and sweat and hope he lost for you to advance. So you did not get that note. It, in effect, says that a player will advance regardless of the outcome of the remaining games, as you note.

Rating is never used as a tiebreaker in gameknot tournaments or mini-tournaments (if two players tie for, say, second, the points for second and third are split between the two players). In tournaments, there are no tiebreakers, except perhaps in the final round (a lofty sphere which I have never reached, so I would not know).
