Need help
Hey guys, I am the current team captain of the GameKnot Kings but do not have the required membership to captain a team. I have messaged admin a few times about transferring the captaincy to another member of my team but have had no feedback about the issue at all. I first sent a messaged probably about 3 weeks ago now so i would have expected a reply already. I cannot promote any team members to co-captain either because it just say you need the required membership to do this. as i cant pay for a new membership at this time it would be very handy to transfer teh captaincy so my fellow members can continue playing games. Any ideas from anyone on what i should do? any feedback would be much appreciated. Cheers Nick

We've did this once...
Transferring the Captainship by messaging GK should be possible, but GK can't do anything if you don't have a willing person with the necessary membership level standing by. And if you have, I'd ask him to message GK too, so that GK knows they're really up to it. Regards, MaCa

What Maca said. And... you could have easily transferred the captaincy before your membership expired by using the "ยป Manage the team members" link on the team tab. First promote them to co-captain, and then to captain (messaging GK is not involved in this process of switching captains anymore as it used to be). Not sure why you are not allowed to perform that simple action now though...

Thanks, guys.
We have already tried that, though, unfortunately. I have the level of membership GK requires and I did send them a message as well. They did reply to that but only to tell me that the team captaincy could now be transferred by the current team captain to any of the team's co-captains via "manage the team" link. Not much help to us in our current position. Nick then responded to that message because I'm not so sure GK would act on a request by an ordinary team member to switch the captaincy anyway. Otherwise people could end up stealing a team from the rightful captain. Obviously messaging GK is the only real course of action we can take but since they don't seem to be responding, there's a vague hope that somebody might read this thread and take another look through the messages sent to them to see if they've been overlooked. At the very least, since they received my message, I can send them another asking them to check out this thread. Then they have confirmation in the first post that our captain is indeed trying to have the captaincy transferred.

Apparently they forgot the team captain has no "privileges" anymore to promote team members to co-captain status. Perhaps the team captain should regain these "privileges" despite having no premium membership anymore.

Indeed, I agree on both counts, but especially the last.
Would be nice if captains could still appoint somebody else to look after the running of the team after their membership has expired. A lot of the time, I'm sure a captain would be able to do so before their membership ran out, but it isn't always going to be possible and allowing this would make it a lot easier for a team to continue in those instances.

Thanks, GK.
All sorted out now yesterday evening.
